Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has eight horses racing on Friday 21 June at Kranji. Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has a dominant lead on the Trainers' Premiership with 44 wins so far this season, a lead of 13 - there is no racing on Sunday.

10.50 p.m. R1 12 Venus De Milo (4 m Burgundy - Breezed) - Ismail Azhar; drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55.5kgs. She meets quite a strong field and rates a place chance with luck from a wide draw (11).

11.20 p.m. R2 8 Barbarian  (2 g Redoute's Choice - Fume Blanc) - MM Firdaus (a1); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 48.5kgs. A recent arrival from Australia, he has trialled well but is drawn wide (11). Some luck in running could see him a top four contender.

12.50 a.m. R5 2 Fulife Brilliance (3 g Van Nistelrooy - Holy Sunset) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 59kgs. Yet another who has drawn wide (10) but he does have gate speed to negate that disadvantage and has shown to be improving at the trials.

12.50 a.m. R5 14 Prince Pegasus (5 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - J P Van Der Merwe; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 52kgs. Second on the ballot and he is unlikely to make the field.

1.50 a.m. R7 2 Time Lord  (4 g Guillotine - Mary Agnes) - Razali Zawari (a1); drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 58.5kgs. A ast start winner in this grade over 1400 metres, he is another facing a wide draw (11) and will be ridden patiently.

1.50 a.m. R7 4 Augustus  (4 g Snitzel - Gussy Godiva) - Ismail Azhar; drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 58kgs. Sounds repetitive but yet another runner with a car park draw!  He will be ridden quietly from the gate (11), is in good form and a strong pace would help his chances.

2.20 a.m. R8 6 Sacred Guru (5 g Savabeel - Biriyani) - Razali Zawari (a1); drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 55.5kgs. Needs luck from the draw (9) and rain would help him prove competitive.

2.20 a.m. R8 12 O'Reilly Star  (5 g O'Reilly - Starbelly) - MM Firdaus (a1); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 50kgs. To complete the night, another wide alley (8) and a horse that may be better suited back in Class 5.
