Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
23 January, 2015
Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has seven runners at Kranji on Friday 23 January 2015.
10:20pm R1 13 Soul Commander - Michael Rodd; went an improved effort last time out over 1200m in Class 4 when he found the lead and looked a winner until the final 100m. Back in distance, he will have the challenge of a wide barrier over 1000m. One of two in the race for Mark Walker.
10:20pm R1 10 Dr. Octopus - David Flores; ran on strongly for second from midfield in this class fresh up over 1000m on 9 January. Second up, he has drawn wide like his stable mate and will need luck in the running to be a factor.
11:20pm R3 1 Eclair Sensation - Manuel Nunes; a very consistent performer and winner of four races in Singapore, he is fourth up having run a strong second at his last start on 1 January in this class. He has the advantage of barrier one and leading rider Nunes in the saddle.
11:50pm R4 9 Pharma Browne - Manuel Nunes; has the ability to factor in this but will need some luck in the running with other runners showing stronger form.
12:50am R6 14 Prince Mag - Michael Rodd; mixes form and carries top weight but should appreciate the 1800m despite the wide barrier. Can factor under the guidance of top jockey Michael Rodd. One of three in the race for Mark Walker.
12:50am R6 9 King Savinsky - App. R Zawari; is third up in his sixth start in Singapore. The NZ Derby runner with good stamina is well placed as he steps up to 1800m carrying a light weight, factors that will be key to an improved performance.
12:50am R6 5 Clermont Club - David Flores; backing up from a win last Friday in Class 5 over the same distance, he drops 2.5kg and has drawn well enough to be a chance in this field.
