Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Trainers' Premiership winner Mark Walker again leads the Trainers' Premiership - now with 40 wins since 1 January.

Friday 17 June

10.20 p.m. R1 2 DREAMCATCHER - Shafiq Rizuan; draws wide at 10 in a field of 12 in this first event on the programme and will ridden by the two-time Singapore champion and former Te Akau apprentice, carrying 57kgs. An older horse now but he is always competitive in this grade - a top five chance.

11.20 p.m. R3 7 COURT CASE- Manuel Nunes; couldn't draw worse (14) in this 12 horse affair but has the top rider to mitigate this awkward draw.  Weighted with 57 kgs in this Class 4 1100m on the poly, he was a tough winner two starts ago.  He is enjoying good form and if he can get luck from the barrier, he rates a top five chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 2 INDIAN JADE - Manuel Nunes; the stable lines up three of the nine runners in this S$60,000 Class 3 event and Nunes is aboard the first of them.  Drawn barrier seven in the Open Benchmark 89 over 1200m, he carries 58 kgs and this race suits him.  He is in good form and as such, rates a top four chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 7 FORTUNIQUE - App CK Ng (a4); the second of the three Mark Walker runners is on debut for the stable, has drawn gate six and with the apprentice claim drops to just 47.5kgs.  This first starter will appreciate more distance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 9 ARC CARA - App S Anandan (a1); the third of the three Mark Walker runners is another on debut for the stable, will jump from barrier nine and with the apprentice claim will carry 49kgs.  He too is a horse having his first start who will need more distance, this race a stepping stone to future assignments as with Fortunique.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 1 BULLISH LUCK - Shafiq Rizuan; a reasonable gate (6) in this field of 12 runners and joint top weight of 57.5kgs for the Class 5 1100m.  He has been disappointing and he needs to improve.

1.20 a.m. R7 1 ROCKFAST - Manuel Nunes; a nice draw (3) but 58kgs top weight for this smart last start winner in this Kranji Stakes C over 2000m on the turf short course E. Facing a field of 11, he is in super form and looks to be a top four chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 9 KEEN DRAGON - Shafiq Rizuan; the first of two stable runners in this Open Benchmark 67 over 1000m has drawn 10.  The last start winner carries 54.5kgs against a 12 strong line-up.  He is up in grade here and looks a place chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 13 THE COSMOS - App CK Ng (3); the second of Mark Walker's stable runners sits at one on the ballot and, if he gets a start, jumps from barrier four carrying just 50 kgs with the apprentice allowance. If he gets that one scratching he requires to make the field he will pose a dangerous lightweight chance.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 2 BRAHMS AND LISZT - Manuel Nunes; the top jockey rides the veteran campaigner in this Class 4 1400 on the turf short course E.  He has drawn out (11) and carries 56.5kgs in the S$60,000 event.   He always tries hard and ran a good race last start - a top five chance.
