Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Trainers' Premiership winner Mark Walker lies third on the Trainers' Premiership - now with 49 wins since 1 January (as at 2.9.16)

Friday 2 September:

6.20 p.m. R1 HORAZ SAMOSIR (9) - Azhar Bin Ismail; in this Class 5 1000m on the polytrack, he has drawn out at nine and carries 52.5kgs.  Struggling to be competitive in Singapore, it looks that this mare's future racing will be in Malaysia.

7.20 p.m. R3 UNSURPASSED (6) - App Ck Ng -3; drawn 3, in this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack. Weighted with just 53kgs, he has been in great form and his work this was encouraging - drawn nicely expect a top four performance.

7.50 p.m. R4 MOMENT OF JUSTICE (3)- Antonio Da Silva; drawn seven in the Maiden 1200m on the turf short course C.  While the 1200m could be a bit short, he has just had a good freshen up and is in top form. A top four chance.

7.50 p.m. R4 PRETTY ELUSIVE (12) - Derreck David; Mark Walker has two stable runners in the Maiden 1200m on the turf short Course C.  Pretty Elusive is a lightweight chance carrying 50kgs but will need to improve on past runs to be competitive.

8.20 p.m. R5 COURT CASE (2) - Rizuan Shafiq; drawn 10 in this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack with 56.5kgs to carry.  He has had a good freshen up and is in really good form. Mark thinks he is a strong top four chance.

8.50 p.m. R6  CLERMONT CLUB (7) - Rizuan Shafiq; drawn barrier three with 55kgs on board Clermont Club is an older horse but is coming off the back of a strong second and has been working well this week.  Therefore we are rating him at top four place chance in the Class 5 over 1800m on the polytrack.

9.20 p.m. R7 FINE CHOICE (5) - Rizuan Shafiq; nice to have Fine Choice back in the stable in the S$60,000 Class 4 1100m on the polytrack.  Carrying 55kgs, Fine Choice was great fresh up last run but now is in Class 4 company rather than Kranji D, thus he is rated as top five chance. He is one of the two runners in the event for trainer Mark Walker.

9.20 p.m. R7 BEST JADE (6) - Antonio Da Silva; drawn gate three, carrying 54.5kgs in the S$60,000 Class 4 over 1100m on the polytrack.  Blinkers are coming off in an effort to achieve a better jump out to start with. All going well rated a top five chance.

9.50 p.m. R8 KING SAVINSKY (5) - Olivier Placais; carrying 55.5kgs drawn barrier nine in the Class 5 - 1400m on the turf short Course C- S$35000. Place chance although has had a wind operation and needs more distance.

10.20 p.m. R9 ASPREY (1) - Rizuan Shafiq; first runner of three in this Class 4 - 1200m Course C (Sc) (Turf Track) - S$60000, Asprey has drawn six and is carrying 57kgs. Has been unlucky but in good form without winning so the expectations are that he will again run well.

10.20 p.m. R9 EN CIVIL (8) -  Antonio Da Silva; second out of three runners has drawn gate eight in the Class 4 - 1200m turf short course C - carrying 55kgs. He comes back from a great freshen up, although 1200m is a bit short, we are expecting him to a decent place chance.   

10.20 p.m. R9 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (13) - Azhar Bin Ismail; last race and runner of the evening sees Mighty Conqueror drawn 5 carrying 52.5kgs in the S$60,000 Class 4 - 1200m turf short Course C - S$60000. Won very well first up but now is in stronger company but the trainer rates him a top five chance.
