Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
The Singapore Turf Club resumed racing when the new 2017 season commenced on 1 January.  The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner Te Akau's Mark Walker, who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership, has a sizeable team engaged, looking to add to his first win of the season last weekend.

Friday 6 January -

11.20 p.m. R1 7 STARSKY - Alan Munro; Mark Walker has a strong hand with a trio contesting the first tonight, the Class 5 1200m on the turf short course B.  Carrying 57.5kgs, our first stable starter has drawn well (4 of 14) and on the back of a good last start effort, a top fine chance.

11.20 p.m. R1 9 PRETTY ELUSIVE - App R Zawari (a2); the second for Mark Walker in this Class 5 has drawn worst of the three at 13 and carries 54kgs with the apprentice claim.  He has shown promise since arriving at the stable however the wide draw makes it tough - place chance.

11.20 p.m. R1 11 MISS WAIMATAITAI - Glen Boss; the last of the trio tends to be a bit fractious at times and on her day can run well if she puts it all together!  Tonight she has the ace draw and is weighted with 54 kgs for the top Australian rider.  She put together some decent performances towards the end of her last campaign and although it is frustrating she hasn't won a race by now, she gets her chance tonight from this barrier and with a top jockey up - a top four chance.

11.50 p.m. R2 2 JACK'S SECRET - Gerald Mosse; this 4YO chestnut son of Sakhee's Secret has placed in two of his three Singapore starts so far for the Fortuna team.  In this Initiation 4YO+Below WFA 1200m on the polytrack, he has drawn sweetly (2) and carries 57.5kgs.  Facing 11 other starters in the S$65,000 event, he disappointed last start but has been freshened for this - a top five chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 4 COURT CASE - Glen Boss; the grey has drawn five of 10 for this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack and will carry 54.5kgs.  He can be unpredictable but he is a nice horse who has freshened up nicely - a top four chance.

3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 2 FINE CHOICE - App R Zawari (a2); two for Mark Walker cap off the night's racing contesting this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack.  The first is a son of Coats Choice who cost less than $25,000 and to date has won stakes in excess of $125,000 in his short Singapore career.  He has unfortunately drawn 11 of 11 but with the apprentice aboard, drops to 54.5kgs.  He will need lots of luck in the running from this difficult barrier draw.

3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 4 LIM'S SHINE - Danny Beasley; the second of the stable duo was fourth on debut, the 4YO son of Swiss Ace drawing seven and carrying 55.5kgs.  He has come on nicely since his first up run - a top four chance.
