Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner Te Akau's Mark Walker, who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership, has trained four winners and lies fourth on the Trainers' Premiership this season which began on 1 January.

Friday 13 January -  

11.20 p.m. R1 2 CLUTHA LAD - App R Zawari (a2); Mark Walker kicks off proceedings with two starters in the first, the Class 5 1600m on the polytrack. Carrying 54.5kgs thanks to the apprentice claim, our first runner has drawn six of 11 and is such a grand campaigner who has earned in excess of $300,000 since travelling to Singapore.  His run last start was an improver's run and this race looks suitable - top four chance.

11.20 p.m. R1 5 Q NINE MAXIM - S John; the second for Mark Walker has drawn the ace (1) and will carry 55kgs.  On the back of a solid third last start, he finds a suitable race and drawn handily, a top four chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 1 CHAMPAGNE REIN - Gerald Mosse; a trio - or the third of the field - lines up for Mark Walker in this Class 4 1000m on the polytrack.  The first has drawn seven and carries 58kgs.  He has been freshened up coming in to this on the back of as good trial - a top four chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 3 MIGHTY CONQUEROR - I Azhar; the second for the stable in this $60,000 event has drawn well at three and is weighted with 56.5 kgs.  He sports a very good formline (1133) and has had a spell and for his second preparation looks well - top four chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 6 LIM'S SHOT - Darren Beasley; the last of the stable trio jumps from gate five with 55.5kgs on his back in the nine horse event.  He has had only two starts and already shown plenty, finishing runner up on debut and winning stylishly when next presented.  He has trialled well and while the 1000m looks a bit short, he rates a place chance.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R4 1 BRAHMS AND LISZT - App Z Syed (a2); this Class 5 1400 is staged on the turf short course D and with the maximum claim, this 7YO son of Coats Choice will carry 55kgs, jumping from gate four.  In this 12 strong field, he drops down to Class 5 for first time, has drawn well - a top four chance.

1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 DAMON - Danny Beasley; the first of two stable runners in this Class 4 1200m on the turf short course D has drawn barrier eight and carries 57kgs.  He was running his races out well at the end of his last campaign and has been freshened.  This distance a little too short at this stage of his new prep - place chance.

1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 AHMAR - Oscar Chavez; the second of the duo draws one inside his stablemate (7) in this field of 11.  He also had a spell and was freshened and, like his stablemate, the 1200m is a bit short - place chance.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R7 2 KAM'S COMET - App R Zawari (a2); a competitive line up for this Open Benchmark 89 over 1200m on the polytrack where the first of two starters for Mark Walker has drawn nine of 12 and with the claim, drops to 55kgs. He finished on solidly from well back for third last start and is returning to form but faces a tough field - top five chance.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 9 VIVIANO - Derreck David; the second stable rep. was a nice winner three starts back for the Raffles Racing team, has drawn barrier eight and carries 52kgs for today's assignment.  He was unlucky last start and this is a tough race - place chance.

2.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 8 ASPEN - S Anandan; he has drawn six of 10 for this Open Benchmark 74 over 1200m and carries just 50kgs.  This son of Alamosa needs to drop back to Class 5 to be competitive and rain would also assist.

3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 4 MOMENT OF JUSTICE - Gerald Mosse; two starters in the final event, the Class 4 1200m on the turf short course D to complete the night's racing.  The first has drawn well (2) and carries just 53.5kgs for the senior international rider.  He had a spell and has been freshened - this looks a bit short - a place chance.

3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 6 THE COSMOS - App MM Firdhaus (a1); the second of the stable pair draws 11 of 12 and will carry 52.5kgs with the allowance.  He is having his first start on the grass since his arrival in Singapore, unlucky last start, an each-way chance at value.
