Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner Te Akau's Mark Walker, who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership, has trained 10 winners and lies second on the Trainers' Premiership this season which began on 1 January.

Friday 3 February -

11.20 p.m. R1 2 ASPEN - Manuel Nunes; Mark Walker kicks off proceedings with two starters in the first, the Class 5 1400m on the turf long course C. Carrying 57kgs, our first runner has drawn nicely (2) - he  has first start in Class 5 tonight - a top four chance.

11.20 p.m. R1 5 Q NINE MAGIC - App R Zawari (a2); the second for the stable has drawn further out (10 of 12) and will carry 55kgs thanks to the apprentice claim.  He returns back to this class but has copped a difficult barrier draw - an each way chance at odds.

11.50 p.m. R2 4 GOOD JUSTICE - Oscar Chavez; a son of Charge Forward on debut in this Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1100m on the polytrack.  He has drawn gate five in this field of nine and will carry 57kgs.  He will improve with this experience.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 2 DAMON - Danny Beasley; this very consistent galloper sadly has drawn 11 from 11 for the Class 4 1400m on the turf long course C and carries 57.5kgs.  He is in good form but will require good luck from the awkward barrier draw.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R4 3 BRAHMS AND LISZT - App R Zawari (a2); another shocking draw for this veteran (12 of 13) for the Class 5 1600m on the turf long course C.  Weighted with 56kgs thanks to the apprentice, he will win quite quickly in this grade.

2.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 2 STORM TROOPER - App Z Syed (a2); this Class 4 1600 is staged on the polytrack and with the claim, this honest son of Tavistock will carry 55kgs, jumping from gate six.  One of two in the race for Mark Walker, he is now back to Class 4 company - the polytrack is a bit unknown for him - a good each way chance at odds.

2.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 5 TURQUOISE KING - Manuel Nunes; the second for the stable in this field of 12 starters has drawn barrier eight and carries 55.5kgs for the top rider.  He has had no luck for some time but gets into a relatively weak Class 4 - an each way chance.

3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 3 EATON'S GOLD - App R Zawari (a2); to close off the night, another race with two stable representatives - the first in this Open Benchmark 67 1000m on the polytrack is a last start winner.  Drawn gate five tonight, he will drop to 54.5kgs with the claim and as an 8YO he is still in great form - an each way chance.

3.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 5 MIGHTY CONQUEROR - I Azhar; in this field of 12 runners, the second for the stable has drawn out at 10 and carries 56kgs.  He brings a superb formline into play tonight (1-1-3-3-1) - even though he has drawn wide, he rates a strong top four chance.
