Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 31 winners and currently leads the Trainers' Premiership.

Friday 12 May

10.20 p.m. R1 4 PRINCE DARCI - Vlad Duric; this 3YO son of Darci Brahma draws awkwardly (10 of 12) in the Class 5 1400m on the turf long course E where he carries 57kgs. One of two in the event for Mark Walker, he has been disappointing - needs to improve.

10.20 p.m. R1 9 ELHAAME - App S Shafrizal (a2); the second starter for the stable draws no better (will jump from the widest gate) and carries 56kgs. His latest form 6-3-4-0-2 is solid overall and if he puts it all together, he can be a threat to this field. Very awkward draw - if he can overcome that - a place chance.

11.20 p.m. R3 2 SUPER GENIUS - App CK Ng (a3); this race has a trio for Mark Walker and the draws are almost a mirror image of the first on the programme. This runner draws 11 of 12 and with the claim, carries 56kgs, a nice relief for the Class 5 1000m on the polytrack. He too is awkwardly drawn - a place chance.

11.20 p.m. R3 6 SHE'S THE ONE - I Azhar; the second runner for the stable has an even worse draw (12 of 12) and will carry the full 58kgs. She has been disappointing.

11.20 p.m. R3 7 SUCCESS COME TRUE - Shafiq Rizuan; the best draw of the three starters, he jumps from the ace and will carry 57.5kgs. He too has been disappointing.

11.50 p.m. R4 9 AUSPICIOUS ACE - Alan Munro; he breaks from yet another wide gate (11 of 11) - for fear of repeating ourselves - yet another awful draw tonight! Carrying just 51.5kgs for the Class 4 1000m on the polytrack, if he can get some luck from the horror draw - a lightweight chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 8 CLERMONT CLUB - Shafiq Rizuan; this horse ‘keeps on trucking' and draws nicely (4) for the Class 5 1800m on the polytrack where he is weighted with 53,5kgs. He is a senior now but in good form - top four chance.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 5 BRAHMS AND LISZT - Shafiq Rizuan; a veteran really now he always gives his best - he draws 8 of 12 in the Class 4 1400m on the turf long course E where he will carry 57.5kgs. On the back of a spirited last start second placing, he tac es an easier field - top four chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 2 STAR GENIUS - Shafiq Rizuan; another wide draw!! in the Class 4 1000m on the polytrack (11 of 12) where he will carry 58kgs. She is a model of consistency bringing a 2-3-4-3-3- form line into play and in herr first start for the stable for a while - top four chance.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 7 STORM TROOPER - Shafiq Rizuan; this son of Tavistock would grow another leg with any rain. It's gate 5 of 12 for the honest senior horse in the Class 4 1600m on the long course E where he will carry 55kgs. He is a place chance with any precipitation.
