Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where trainer Mark Walker leads the premiership with 64 wins since the season started on 1 January. There is no Sunday fixture at Kranji this weekend.
Friday 25 September
10.20 p.m. R1 7 Secret Spice (4 m Sakhee's Secret - Caparison) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier one of twelve in the $35,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf long course D and carries 57kgs. Training well and fresh for 1400 metres, she rates a top four chance from the inside gate.

10.50 p.m. R2 6 Big Banker (3 g Rothesay - Montare) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier nine of eleven in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on the polytrack and carries 54kgs. He is expected to improve with experience and more distance.

Making his Singaporean debut, he rates a top five chance with luck from a wide draw - one of three in the race for Te Akau.
11.50 p.m. R4 2 Zarules (4 g Zabeel - Gwen's Rules) - John Powell; drew barrier thirteen of fourteen (12 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1200 metres on the turf long course D and carries 57.5kgs. Making his Singaporean debut and expected to appreciate the turf, he will be better once stepped up to a mile and more - one of three in the race for Te Akau.
11.50 p.m. R4 13 Duran (4 g Darci Brahma - Breezed) - Razali Zawari (a3); drew barrier three of fourteen (12 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1200 metres on the turf long course D and carries 57.5kgs. Unfortunately balloted, but he has trained well since finishing third on debut and is ideally drawn to rate a top four chance if gains a start - one of three in the race for Te Akau.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 3 Zac Command (8 g Ishiguru - Dominica) - Manoel Nunes; drew the outside barrier of eleven in the $35,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf long course D and carries 55.5kgs. He is still racing well and any give in the ground would assist his chances.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 9 King Savinsky (5 g Savabeel - Lynisky) - Mansor Firdaus (a2); drew barrier nine of ten in the $60,000 Class 4 1700 metres on the polytrack and carries 49kgs. He takes his place here instead of the 2200-metre race which had insufficient entries, and has been kept fresh.

In good form as a last start winner, he rates a top four chance - one of two in the race for Te Akau.
1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 2 Alpha Centauri (6 g Keeper - Country Rose) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier three of ten in the $100,000 Kranji B 1400 metres on the turf long course D and carries 55.5kgs. He may find this a touch short, but does serve as precursor to the 1800 metres on the polytrack in three weeks.

Second up over the sprint trip could be a bit sharp, but he will step to a more suitable mile next start.
