Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Premiership winning trainer Mark Walker leads the 2017 Trainers' Premiership with 34 wins since 1 January - including a treble last Sunday.
Friday 19 May
10.50 p.m. R2 1 JUSTICE LIGHT - Vlad Duric; cops a wide draw (12 of 14) for the Restricted Maiden 2 & 3YO WFA 1200m on the turf long course B which features two runners for Mark Walker. Carrying 57kgs, this 3YO son of Darci Brahma has delivered two very good second placings from his last two attempts and if he can get over the awkward barrier draw - a top four chance.
10.50 p.m. R2 3 OBSTACLES FREE - Ismail Azhar; the second for the trainer draws better (5) in this S$75,000 event and will also carry 57kgs. A 3YO son of Coats Choice, he is also in good form and heads to the turf but faces a tough field.
12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 4 MISS WAIMATAITAI - Vlad Duric; another race with two stable reps. this mare could be called “Miss Difficulty†but she does possess ability when she puts it together. For this Class 5 1100m on the polytrack, she draws best of Mark Walker's duo (6) and carries 55.5kgs. She finds a suitable race here and a top rider goes on - a good winning chance.
12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R6 7 BEST JADE - Noresh Juglall; the second for the stable has drawn nine of the nine runners and is weighted with 54.5kgs. He has been racing in solid fashion with the stats of 3-4-5-3 from his last four, so a consistent individual who hasn't quite hit winning form - in this weaker field, a top four chance.
1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R7 2 NAZIR - Vlad Duric; racing in fine fashion with two wins and a second placing from his last three attempts, he is the first of two starters for the trainer in the Open Benchmark 83 over 1400m on the turf long course B. This 5YO son of Mastercraftsman will jump from barrier five and carries 57.5kgs. This distance is short of his best but he is a talented horse resuming from a spell.
1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R7 11 TOLIMAN - App CK Ng (a3); the second stable runner draws 8 of 12 in the same event but the apprentice claim drops him down to just 49.5kgs, a featherweight. He has been disappointing due to wind issues.
2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 6 TURQUOISE KING - Vlad Duric; three Mark Walker runners to complete the night's racing in this Open Benchmark 67 1400m on the turf long course B. The first has a strong part to play with a reasonable barrier draw (6) and 57kgs on his back with the senior international rider aboard. His form line of 3-1-3-3-5 tells the story and he has been freshened up for this 1400m - a top four chance.
2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 7 EN CIVIL - Manuel Nunes; the champion rider takes the mount aboard the second Mark Walker starter who draws well (3) in this 14 strong field. With 56.5kgs to carry, this 6YO is an older horse now who is Malaysia bound.
2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 11 IVANHOE - App CK Ng (a3); to complete the trio of stable reps., the worst of three draw-wise (9) but a weight reduction to 53kgs with the apprentice on top. He needs to lift his game.
