Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 35 winners and currently leads the Trainers' Premiership.

10.20 p.m. R1 4 SHE'S THE ONE - App R Zawari (a2); two starters for trainer Mark Walker in the first race on Friday's programme, the Class 5 1000m on the polytrack. She draws the coveted ace (1) and will carry 55kgs courtesy of the apprentice claim. She has been disappointing however and needs to improve.

10.20 p.m. R1 5 SUCCESS COME TRUE - Shafiq Rusof; the second starter for the stable draws very well also (2 of 12) and is weighted with 57kgs. He is slowly improving - a place chance.

10.50 p.m. R2 2 ASPEN - Vlad Duric; the stable lines up three of the 12 runners in this Class 5 1400m on the turf long course D. The first, this 6YO son of Alamosa, draws gate seven and carries 57kgs. Fresh and with good form - a top four chance.

10.50 p.m. R2 8 MISS WAIMATAITAI - App R Zawari (a2); the second runner for the stable draws well enough (5) and with the claim, drops to 53.5kgs. Known to be cantankerous but capable, she posted a very good third last start and although unpredictable - a top four chance.

10.50 p.m. R2 10 LUCKY BOY - I Azhar; the final of the trio draws nine of 12 and has 54.5kgs on his back. He has been disappointing and needs to improve.

11.20 p.m. R3 2 HELLO MICHELLE - Shafiq Rusof; another race with two stable representatives, the first being this talented 3YO daughter of Minstrel Court who draws out (9) and carries 57kgs in this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack. She really showed her ability as a two year old - now a rising four year old, she is fresh up, with good form - a top four chance.

11.20 p.m. R3 4 THE COSMOS - Vlad Duric; the second starter for Mark Walker in this S$60,000 event draws better (6) and is weighted with 56kgs. A winner this prep. in a weaker field than he faces tonight - a place chance.

11.50 p.m. R4 5 CLERMONT CLUB - Shafiq Rizuan; a field of 10 for this Class 5 1400m on the turf long course D where this 6YO draws the widest gate and has 56kgs on his back. He is racing in good heart and has been freshened - facing a weak field, a top four chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 1 MIGHTY CONQUEROR - App R Zawari (a2); he jumps from the inside gate in this field of nine for this Class 4 1200m on the polytrack where he drops to 56.5kgs with the apprentice allowance. Bringing two runner up placings from his past three appearances, he looks well placed in this field with the claim - top four chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 8 JACK'S SECRET - Derrick David; another handy draw (2) for this son of Sakhee's Secret who carries just 51kgs in this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack. He faces nine other opponents in this S$60,000 event but needs to drop a grade.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 5 IKING - App CK Ng (a3); to complete the night a widish draw (8 of 10) in the Class 4 1200m on the polytrack for this horse that carries 52.5kgs thanks to the apprentice aboard. He also needs to drop back a grade.
