Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 48 winners and continues to lead the Trainers' Premiership - after a trio of wins last Friday and four wins last Sunday.


FRIDAY 16 JUNE

10.50 p.m. R1 11 PRETTY ELUSIVE - Ismail Azhar; draws seven of 12 in the Class 5 1000m on the polytrack where she carries just 53kgs. This 5YO mare has been somewhat disappointing and needs to improve.

11.20 p.m. R2 1 CHAMPAGNE REIN - Vlad Duric; a handy draw (4) in this Class 4 1000m also to be staged on the polytrack. This 5YO gelding by Captain Rio showed solid form last prep. and resumes with an encouraging third placing last start. With the senior rider aboard and 58kgs on his back, he finds a suitable race here and in this field of just 10 starters, he rates a top four chance.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R5 1 PRINCE DARCI - App R Zawari (a2); a 3YO son of multiple Champion Sire of Singapore Darci Brahma as his name suggests, he draws 5 of 10 in this Class 5 1600m on the turf short course E and with the claim, drops to 57kgs. He disappointed last start when ninth but his runner up placing the start prior had plenty of merit and now back to Class 5 company, a top four chance.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R8 3 FINE CHOICE - Shafiq Rizuan; the final runner of a relatively quiet night for the stable, links up in this Class 4 1000m back on the polytrack, draws well (3) and has 55.5kgs on his back. A rising 5YO son of Coats Choice, he been a bit disappointing since his wind operation and needs to find his previous form.
