Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview
14 July, 2017
The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 55 winners and continues to dominate the Trainers' Premiership - leading by 18 wins.

Friday 14 July -
11.20 p.m. R2 4 ALRINA - App R Zawari (a2); Mark Walker's first runner on what, for the stable, is a relatively quiet weekend, steps out in this Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1200m on the polytrack. This Alamosa filly is having her second start in Singapore and has drawn nicely (2) and carries 53.5kgs with the apprentice claim. Facing 11 opponents, she disappointed slightly first up but it was a short distance and will improve over 1200m.
11.50 p.m. R3 1 MAJOR TOM - App R Zawari (a2); a horse that has shown good promise since heading to Singapore for the Fortuna team, he draws seven of 10 in this Class 4 1200m on the turf short course C and with the apprentice up will carry 56.5kgs. His form reads 4-2-1-1-8 and while he hasn't won over the 1200m, he is a more mature horse now and looks in great order - top four chance.
1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R6 7 GANNET - Alan Munro; this 5YO draws the ace marble for the Class 4 1600m on the polytrack and has just 51.5kgs on his back. A son of Duke of Marmalade, his form has shown flashes of ability on occasion (5-0-3-4-0) and he has disappointed overall and needs to improve against this field of just nine runners.
1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R7 4 THE COSMOS - App R Zawari (a2); the final runner for the stable tonight unfortunately cops an awkward draw (10 of 11) and carries 53.5kgs with the apprentice allowance in this Class 4 1000m on the polytrack. A horse that does possess ability and can shine on his day, he is in good form and if he can navigate the barrier draw and get some luck from out wide, he rates a top four chance.
