Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 58 winners and continues to dominate the Trainers' Premiership - leading by 19 wins.

Friday 28 July

10.50 p.m. R1 5 SHE'S THE ONE - App R Zawari (a2); Mark Walker's first runner steps out in this Class 5 1000m on the polytrack. Facing seven opponents, she has drawn gate six and carries 54kgs with the apprentice claim. She has been disappointing thus far and needs to improve.

11.20 p.m. R2 4 ALRINA - Vlad Duric; in the Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1400m on the turf long course B, she jumps from barrier three and carries 55.5kgs. In this field of 12 starters, she wears the blinkers and - on the back of an improved last start effort - rates a top five chance.

11.50 p.m. R3 9 CLERMONT CLUB - App CK Ng (a3); this hearty campaigner will carry just 47kgs thanks to the apprentice claim for this Class 5 1600m on the polytrack. Drawing eight of 10, he put in a good effort last start but this is harder in division one - place chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R4 11 SUCCESS COME TRUE - Glen Boss; the experienced international rider is aboard in this Open Maiden WFA 1000m on the polytrack where he breaks from gate four (of 12) and is weighted with 55.5kgs. He is an improver and presents as a top five chance.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R5 1 PRINCE DARCI - Vlad Duric; the senior rider will look to capitalise on the last two starts where this son of Darci Brahma finished second and fourth. For the Class 5 1800m on the turf long course B, he draws the outside (9 of 9) and carries 58.5kgs. This 3YO is enjoying good form and 1800m looks ideal - top four chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R7 2 JUSTICE LIGHT - Vlad Duric; Mark Walker lines up two runners in the Kranji Stakes D SW 1200m on the turf long course B - the first draws barrier five and will carry 58kgs. Another 3YO son of Darci Brahma, he boasts a top form line (2-2-2-1) and on the back of his last start win - top four chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R7 3 HIDDEN PROMISE - App R Zawari (a2); the second starter for the stable draws gate six and also carries 58kgs. In this field of 13 runners, like his stable mate, he too is a last start winner and also rates a top four chance.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R8 7 LIM'S REGARD - Glen Boss; staying with the “last start winner” theme tonight, Mark Walker presents this son of Red Giant in the Class 4 1400m on the turf long course B. He draws handily (3) and carries 55.5kgs for the S$60,000 event. He was impressive when winning second up and has the ability to feature again - top four chance.
