Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 61 winners and continues to dominate the Trainers' Premiership - leading by 22 wins.

Friday 4 August -

10.20 p.m. R1 5 MISS WAIMATAITAI - Vlad Duric; Mark Walker's first three runners for the meeting are all engaged in this Class 5 1100m on the polytrack. The first can be a difficult mare but does have ability as her last two placings have shown. She has unfortunately drawn the extreme outside in this field of 12 and carries 56.5kgs for the championship leading rider. Tough draw but a top four chance

10.20 p.m. R1 9 BEST JADE - Manuel Nunes; the second of Mark Walker's trio in the first on the programme has drawn barrier seven and is weighted with 54kgs. This 5YO son of Showcasing is fresh up but does have some barrier issues, if he jumps out he rates a top five chance.

10.20 p.m. R1 10 LUCKY BOY - Ismail Azhar; the final starter of the stable three draws best (2) and carries just 53.5kgs. He has been quite disappointing and needs to step up.

11.20 p.m. R3 3 ANCIENT WARRIOR - Shafiq Rizuan; two runners for the stable in this Class 4 1200m on the turf long course D. With a win and runner up placing from his last three appearances, this 5YO Iffraaj gelding jumps from the nice gate of two and has 57.5kgs allocated. He comes in fresh and while 1200m is a touch short, he has to rate a top four chance while fresh.

11.20 p.m. R3 6 SACRED SURFER - Craig Grylls; two new additions to the stable for the Raffles' Racing team are on debut tonight and this is the first of them - this Choisir 5YO gelding squares off against 10 opponents from the handy draw of three and will carry 56kgs. He looks as though he will be better over more ground, a starting point tonight.

11.55 p.m. R4 1 ELITE CONQUEROR - Shafiq Rizuan; the two time former champion apprentice aboard in this Open Maiden WFA 1000m on the turf long course D where he breaks from gate eight (of nine) and is weighted with 58kgs. Having his second start tonight, he gets to 1400m here but also will be better over more ground.

12.55 a.m. (Saturday) R6 4 ASPEN - App R Zawari (a2); he draws 9 of 12 for this Class 5 1200m on the polytrack and carries 56.5kgs with the apprentice aboard. With a handy form line of 3-4-2-7-5, he is an older horse now but in a fresh state can give cheek - a top four chance.

1.30 a.m. (Saturday) R7 3 SACRED GALAXY - Craig Grylls; the second debutant for Raffles' Racing lines up in this Class 4 1200m on the turf long course D where he breaks from gate nine and carries 55.5kgs for the Kiwi rider. In this field of 11 runners, this 5YO Flying Spur gelding seems better suited over more ground but starts his campaign tonight.

2.00 a.m. (Saturday) R8 3 UNSURPASSED - App CK Ng (a3); the final runner for the programme is the winner of two of his last four starts. This 5YO son of Exceed and Excel draws well (2) and carries 54.5kgs thanks to the apprentice claim. In this S$60,000 event, he comes in fresh and with the handy draw and the allowance - a top four chance.
