10 November, 2017
The 2015 Champion Singapore Trainer and Trainers' Premiership winner, the Akau's Mark Walker (who finished third on the 2016 Trainers' Premiership) has trained 81 winners - and continues to dominate the Trainers' Premiership, leading by 24 wins.
Friday 10 November
11.20 p.m. R1 5 JACK'S SECRET - Vlad Duric; two starters to kick off Mark Walker's race night in this Class 5 1200m on the polytrack. The first for the stable unfortunately will start from the outside draw (12 of 12) and carries 57kgs however the 5YO does have the leading Singapore rider aboard. He has finished second at his last three appearances and in good form, just a shame about the draw however he still rates a top four chance.
11.20 p.m. R1 6 LIM'S SIGNATURE - Glen Boss; the second for the stable draws much better (3) and has 57kgs on his back. This 4YO has been in solid form with two fourth placings from his most recent two appearances. For this S$35,000 event, the aim will be to ride him closer and with his current form - a top four chance.
11.50 p.m. R2 1 ELITE GENERAL - App R Zawari (a2); this 5YO Exceed and Excel gelding will jump from barrier four for this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack where he drops to 56.5kgs with the claim. Facing a field of 11 opponents, he does return to Class 4 here but would need to improve.
12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 8 HALLELUJAH - Craig Grylls; with Burgundy's winning everywhere, this 3YO daughter of his will break from gate seven in this S$75,000 Restricted Maiden 2&3YO WFA 1100m on the polytrack. Assigned 55.5kgs she has been improving with her three starts to date and in this field of 10, she would need to keep showing that improvement to be competitive.
1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 9 BIG REGARDS - Shafiq Rizuan; a somewhat awkward draw (9) for this son of Darci Brahma in the Class 5 1200m on the polytrack where he will carry 53kgs. In this field of 12 runners, he has found a weak race and is an each way prospect at good odds.
2.55 a.m. (Saturday) R8 2 ECLAIR CHOICE - App R Zawari (a2); again two stable reps. in this Open Benchmark 83 1100m on the polytrack. The first showed good improvement when fifth last time presented and from the ace draw, with 54.5kgs, this Australian bred 6YO rates a top four chance in the S$100,000 race, even if his turf form does look better.
2.55 a.m. (Saturday) R8 6 MIGHTY CONQUEROR - Craig Grylls; the second for Mark Walker draws out (11 of 12) and has only 53.5kgs to carry. This 5YO finished off his last campaign in fine fashion however the wide draw makes awfully tough tonight.
3.25 a.m. (Saturday) R9 9 DECRETO - Craig Grylls; the final starter for the stable on Friday lines up in this Class 4 1100m on the polytrack where this capable galloper draws eight of 12 and carries only 53.5gs. This 4YO is in good form and has been a touch unlucky of late - top four chance.
