Te Akau Singapore Friday Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where premiership winning trainer Mark Walker (86 wins, 86 seconds, 121 thirds) already has 16 wins, in third position three off the lead, since 1 January.

Friday 11 March

11.20 p.m. R1 1 BRIEFNESS - Manuel Nunes; draws the outside barrier and carries 58kgs. His Sydney form was mostly on rain affected going and still acclimatising, he rates a place chance in the Kranji Stakes S SW 1200m on the long course D (turf). One of two in the race for Mark Walker.

11.20 p.m. R1 4 WE ARE GENIUS - Apprentice CK Ng (a4); draws six and will carry 54kgs with the apprentice claim. First starts for the stable, he has pleased in his work and rates a top four chance.

11.50 p.m. R2 3 BULLISH LUCK - Vlad Duric; draws out at eight in the field of 10 in the Restricted maiden 2&3YO WFA 1200m on the polytrack and will carry 57kgs. Improved last start against a moderate field and rates a place chance.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R3 10 SECRET SPICE - App CK Ng (a4); has drawn well enough at five in a field of 11 for the Class 4 1100m on the polytrack. Carrying a featherweight of 46.5kgs with the apprentice claim, she needs to return to Class 5 to show her best.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R4 2 HARDCORE ROCK - Oscar Chavez; draws out at 11 yet again which makes life awkward in the Class 5 1600m on the turf long course D. Carrying 57kgs, as an older horse he needs a bit of cut in the ground to show his best and rates a place chance. The first of three for Mark Walker in this event.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R4 3 KING SAVINSKY - Shafiq Rusof; the second of the Te Akau team in this event, King Savinsky will be ridden by the stable's two time Champion apprentice with 57kgs. He has drawn well and coming off a game runner up placing last start again faces a strong Class 5 field but rates a top four chance.

12.50 a.m. (Saturday) R4 4 MOLLY BROWNE - Manuel Nunes; with a less than favourable draw, the mare however has the advantage of Singapore's champion jockey and will carry 57kgs. The third of Te Akau's runners in this event, she put an encouraging effort last start and the mile suits - she rates a top four chance.

1.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 1 HOME RUN HERO - Shafiq Rusof; jumping from barrier eight and carrying 58kgs in the 12 strong Kranji Stakes D SW 1200m on the long course D (turf). Returning from a suspensory injury, he will improve with then run under his belt.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R7 2 KAM'S COMET - Alan Munro; draws wide at 12 and carries 57kgs in the S$125,000 Racing Guide Classic 3YO + Up SW 1400m on the turf long course D. He is an interesting runner being tried for the first time beyond 1200m but he is a class horse and can be expected to be a top five finisher.

2.55 a.m. (Saturday) R8 1 ALPHA CENTAURI - App CK Ng (a4); a lovely draw for this resuming horse in the Class 3 1200m on the long course D (turf) - with the apprentice allowance will carry just 53kgs. Coming off a long lay off with a leg injury, delighted to have him back at the races and he will take much improvement from the run.

3.25 a.m. (Saturday) R9 2 BRAHMS AND LISZT - App CK Ng (a4); a handy draw and an apprentice claim meaning 53kgs in his back in the Class 4 1200m on the long course D (turf). The first of three runners in this event for Mark Walker, he has had a freshen up and rates a place chance, will the 1200m being a touch short for him.

3.25 a.m. (Saturday) R9 4 WONDERFUL - Manuel Nunes; the second of the trio for Mark Walker, this horse has also drawn well at six and carries 56.5kgs for the leading rider. He's enjoying good form and strikes a suitable race, seeing him a top three chance.

3.25 a.m. (Saturday) R9 6 BEST JADE - Shafiq Rusof; he has fared the worst draw wise at 13 of this trio and will carry 56kgs. Coming off the horror draw, he will need a ton of luck and if he gets it, is a place chance.
