Te Akau Singapore Monday Preview
Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore, where 2015 Trainers' Premiership winner Mark Walker again leads the Trainers' Premiership - now with 32 wins since 1 January.

Monday 2 May

4.50 p.m. R1 2 MISS WAIMATAITAI - Shafiq Rusof; draws wide (10) in this 11 horse field, in which Te Akau has three runners.  This Saperavi filly will be ridden by Te Akau's former two time champion apprentice and carries 56kgs.  It's her first start in Class 5 company, expected to improve and rates a top four chance.

4.50 p.m. R1 5 BULLISH LUCK - Vlad Duric; draws well (2), the second stable rep in this and carries 55.5kgs.  He does need rain and will be reassessed following Monday's run.

4.50 p.m. R1 11 VINTAGE VERDOT - App CK Ng (a3); draws the ace and with the claim will carry only 51kgs.  The third of the stable trio, he really needs to step up.

8.25 p.m.  R8 13 ZAC GALLANT - App CK Ng (a3); sits number one on the ballot - if he get a start he will have just 49.5kgs to carry from the widest draw (12) for the apprentice.  He does rate a top four chance if he can make the field.

9.00 p.m. R9 5 CLUTHA LAD - Oscar Chavez; the first of two in the event for Te Akau, Chavez is aboard - with 56.5kgs and he has drawn six in the Class 3 field of 10.  He is Mr Consistent with almost $300,000 in career earnings in Singapore.  Just a shame the race was scrapped on the poly as his turf form is not quite as strong - rates a top four chance.

9.00 p.m. R9 7 CHASE - Shafiq Rusof; the second of Mark Walker's starters in this race, he jumps from gate 10 and carries 55kgs for the former two-time champion Te Akau  apprentice.  He has quite recaptured his previous form since a wind operation so will monitor and reassess after this run.

9.30 p.m. R10 2 VRAAD - Corey Brown; draws nicely (2) but does have the 58kgs to carry in this 1600m Kranji Stakes D SW on the turf.  In this field of 12, and already a winner from five starts in Singapore, he's on the eight day back up but he needs to win or place to secure a run in the Guineas - a top four chance.

10.00 p.m. R11 2 THE COSMOS - Shafiq Rusof; with two runners in the event, this gelding deserves to win having had three runner up placings from his last three starts.  He always seems to run into one better on the day but is a capable galloper, drawn out however at nine and does have 58.5kgs to carry.  In great form, he presents as a top four chance in this 12 horse line-up.

10.00 p.m. R11 14 CLERMONT CLUB - ballot 2; the second of Mark Walker's runners ironically will require two scratchings to make this field, is weighted at 51.5kgs and has drawn four.
