Te Akau Singapore has fifteen horses racing on Wednesday 1 January at Kranji. Trainer Mark Walker ended last season (Dec. 8) with 73 wins to claim his third title as Singapore Champion Trainer.





5.30 p.m. R1 2 Heart of Courage (5 g Fastnet Rock - Myrrh) - Ismail Azhar; drew the outside barrier (11) in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. Drops to Class 5, 1000 metres a bit short for him but place chance.





5.30 p.m. R1 5 Pearl King  (7 g Iffraaj - Nuance) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 7 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. First start Class 5, prefer over longer distance but rates an each way chance.





6.00 p.m. R2 3 Barbarian  (3 g Redoute's Choice - Fume Blanc) - J P Van de Merwe; drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Improving, he rates a top four contender.





6.30 p.m. R3 6 Bejewelled (5 g Minstrel Court - Diamond Jules) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. It makes it tough from the draw (11).





7.30 p.m. R5 1 Afalonhro  (4 g Lonhro - Armed For Action) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 5 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. Good second first-up and each way chance despite carrying top weight.





8.05 p.m. R6 4 Try Mak Mak  (3 g Makfi - Shamabelle) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kgs. It makes it tough from the draw (11).





9.05 p.m. R8 3 Altair (4 g Zoustar - Rossarita) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Two wins and a second in Singapore, he rates a top four contender.





9.05 p.m. R8 13 Beau Geste  (5 g Street Cry - Haut Ton) - Ismail Azhar; drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. Ballot one and he may not gain a start.





9.40 p.m. R9 1 Distinctive Darci  (6 g Darci Brahma - Distinctive Lass) - John Powell; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $175,000 New Year Cup (Gr. 3, 1200m) on the poly track and carries 59kgs. Top weight makes it tough but he rates a place chance.





9.40 p.m. R9 5 Sacred Rebel  (5 g Sepoy - Pandoro De Lago) - Ismail Azhar; drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $175,000 New Year Cup (Gr. 3, 1200m) on the poly track and carries 54kgs. Disappointed last start, but each way chance with blinkers on.





9.40 p.m. R9 6 Elite Power  (5 g Sakhee's Secret - London Welsh) - Alysha Collett; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $175,000 New Year Cup (Gr. 3, 1200m) on the poly track and carries 53.5kgs. Ideally drawn (3) to rate a top four contender.





10.15 p.m. R10 5 Ka Chance  (5 g Redoute's Choice - All Enfield) - Nizar Noor (a4); drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. He disappointed last start, but ideally drawn (1) to rate a top four contender.





10.45 p.m. R11 1 Cousteau  (5 g Exceed and Excel - Maritime) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. Races well fresh, back in grade, and top four prospects despite carrying top weight.





10.45 p.m. R11 4 Fulife Brilliance  (4 g Van Nistelrooy - Holy Sunset) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a4); drew the outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 52kgs. He faces a tough draw (12) to overcome at 1000 metres.
