Te Akau Singapore Preview

Te Akau horses racing at Kranji Racecourse in Singapore this weekend, where trainer Mark Walker leads the premiership with 39 wins (8 ahead) since the season started on 1 January. 

Friday May 22

10.20 p.m. R1 1 Appellation (3 g Pentire - Tattinger) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier eleven of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Looking to run home strongly from back in the field, he is preparing for a 1400-metre race next week - one of two horses in the race for Te Akau.

10.20 p.m. R1 13 Our River Dancer (4 g Danehill Dancer - Distinctly) - Mansor Firdaus (a2); drew barrier three of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 49.5kgs. Unfortunately the first emergency, if able to make the field he may need a couple of races given his lengthy spell.

11.50 p.m. R4 11 Speed Craft (3 g Mastercraftsman - Velvet and Satin) - Ronald Woodworth; drew barrier ten of thirteen (12 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1400 metres on the turf long course D and carries 56kgs. He will settle back from the draw and look to run home solidly.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 5 Iking (6 g Holy Roman Emeperor - Lacada) - Rawali Zawari (a3); drew barrier five of ten in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1800 metres on the turf long course D and carries 52.5kgs. Having pleased trainer Mark Walker in his work, he has drawn nicely to rate a top four chance where No. 1 & 2 are expected hardest to beat - one of two in the race for Te Akau.

12.20 a.m. (Saturday) R5 10 King Savinsky (4 g Savabeel - Lynisky) - Mansor Firdaus (a2); drew the outside barrier of ten in the $60,000 Benchmark 67 1800 metres on the turf long course D and carries 48kgs. His style of getting back and running home strongly will not be impeded by the draw and he also rates a top four chance.

1.50 a.m. (Saturday) R8 2 Ready Fortune (5 g More than Ready - Bahira) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier thirteen of fourteen (12 run) in the $35,000 Class 5 1800 metres on the turf long course D and carries 59kgs. Despite the weight, and providing he can see out the trip, he rates a top four chance with the top rider aboard.

2.20 a.m. (Saturday) R9 5 Brahms and Liszt (5 g Coats Choice - Symphony) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier two of eleven in the $60,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf long course D and carries 56kgs. He ran a super race for third fresh up and rates a first four chance from the good gate.

4.40 p.m. R1 2 Riedel (5 g Saperavi - La Conga) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew the outside barrier of thirteen in the $38,000 Kranji D 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 56kgs. In an easier grade, he will look to get home from back in the field but the outside gate on the short course makes it tough.

5.40 p.m. R3 2 Hardcore Rock (4 g Fastnet Rock - River Dreaming) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier one of fourteen (12 run) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 57kgs. A horse with ability, he receives an opportunity from barrier one to enhance his form.

6.10 p.m. R4 11 Aguila Azteca (3 f Minstrel Court - La Conga) - Manoel Nunes; drew the outside barrier of fourteen (12 run) in the $65,000 Initiation 1200 metres on the turf short course E and carries 54.5kgs. Pleasing trainer Mark Walker in training, it makes things difficult from the widest gate but an encouraging performance can set her up for next time.

8.45 p.m. R9 3 Eaton's Gold (6 g Jet Spur - Road Ranger) - Shafiq Rusof (a1); drew barrier five of fourteen (12 run) in the $80,000 Class 3 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. Having thrived since his solid last start third, he receives another good chance to press for a first four finish.

9.20 p.m. R10 4 Sacred Spin (4 g Hard Spun - Destina) - Manoel Nunes; drew the outside barrier of fourteen (12 run) in the $38,000 Kranji D 1400 metres on the turf short course E and carries 58kgs. Particularly difficult from a wide gate on the short course, he will settle back and look for a timely drag into the race.
