Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has eight horses entered on Saturday 8 April at Kranji.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership, and currently fourth.  Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:00 p.m. R3 12 Super Posh (7 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 50kg. Up in class after a strong last start win, the 1000 metres is his pet distance, however he meets a strong field and looks a rough place chance.

5:30 p.m. R4 4 Mystery Power (6 g No Nay Never - Gems) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 55.5kg. He finished nicely last start, but requires luck from his wide draw (10) - one of two in the event for the stable.

5:30 p.m. R4 8 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 51.5kg. Ideally drawn (2), he could sneak a place at long odds.

6:30 p.m. R6 13 Foresto (8 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - unfixed; he drew outside barrier (12) in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 51kg. His sits at number one on the ballot, so is unlikely to gain a start.

8:00 p.m. R9 7 God's Gift (6 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He brings good form to this, is a distance winner, and rates a top four chance.

9:00 p.m. R11 2 Luxury Brand (3 g Charm Spirit - Miss Gucci) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 10 of 16 in the $110,000 Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on the turf and carries 55kg. He delivered a good fresh-up win, and comes in with strong course/distance stats. He is doing everything right, however this is his toughest test to date, but expect a strong showing if he can get some lucky from his tricky, wide gate (10) - one of three for the stable in this feature event.

9:00 p.m. R11 5 January (3 g Swiss Ace - Musically) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 5 of 16 in the $110,000 Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on the turf and carries 56kg. He continues to build a strong record, but would be better suited over further and should be hitting the line strongly.

9:00 p.m. R11 9 Knippenberg (3 g I Am Invincible - Red Fez) - Ronnie Stewart; he drew barrier 14 of 16 in the $110,000 Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on the turf and carries 57kg. He showed talent when winning on his Kranji debut and had genuine excuses last start. He is capable but is yet another that requires luck from a wide draw (14).
