Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has six horses entered Saturday 3 June at Kranji.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership, and currently fourth.  Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:30 p.m. R2 1 Artillery (2 g Smart Missile - Lycra Lass) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 6 of 14 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 2YO 1200 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He won a good trial in April, and is an athletic individual who should prove competitive however, it is difficult to line-up his prospects in a field with so many debutantes - the first of two on debut for the stable.

4:30 p.m. R2 5 Santino (2 g Santos - Mercy's Choice) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 7 of 14 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 2YO 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. He also won a trial in April, and is a well bred type who looks to have early speed but, as with his stablemate, it's tricky to assess his chances against so many first-timers.

5:00 p.m. R3 3 Charminton (4 g Charm Spirit - Sarzana) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 54.5kg. Coming off consecutive second placings, he brings good course/distance stats to the contest, and rates a top three chance.

5:30 p.m. R4 8 Wednesday (5 g Super One - Shufetish) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 7 of 8 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries just 51kg. He is capable of good showing in this field, but requires right trip from barrier seven.

8:00 p.m. R7 9 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew outside barrier (10) in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries the featherweight of 49kg. He posted a bold second after leading last start, but will need to jump well from barrier 10.

8:30 p.m. R10 2 King Arthur (5 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 3 of 8 in the $110,000 Kranji Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on turf and carries 53.5kg. He had valid excuses last time, possesses strong course/distance stats, is ideally drawn (3) and can bounce back as a top three prospect.
