Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has nine horses entered on Saturday 30 December at Kranji.

5:00 p.m. R1 11 God’s Gift (7 g Haradasun – Criquette) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 52.5kg. He requires a ton of luck from the wide draw (11).

6:00 p.m. R3 10 Super Posh (8 g Super Easy – Posh Bec) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 48kg. He is another that requires luck from a wide gate (11), but has raced well previously from outside barriers.

6:30 p.m. R4 6 China Pearl (3 g Ardrossan – Indian Sky) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 3 of 10 in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on the turf and carries 50kg. Ideally drawn (3), he is learning from experience and has definite first four claims.

7:30 p.m. R6 11 Tributo (5 g Capitalist – Taliqua) – Ibrahim Mamat (a3); he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1400 metres on the turf and carries just 48kg. He is having his first run for the stable, has been consistent in good fields and is not far from dropping back to Class 5.

9:30 p.m. R10 8 Rocky (5 g El Roca – Anthology) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1800 metres on the turf and carries 50kg. He went a solid race for fifth last start, however he meets a competitive field here, and requires a lot to go his way from the tricky gate (10).

10:00 p.m. R11 2 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He is likely to settle back and be looking for him to run home strongly - one of three in the event for the stable.

10:00 p.m. R11 6 Prince Lonhro (4 g Lonhro – Palace Gardens) – Manoel Nunes; he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. He was narrowly beaten last time, and while this is a tougher assignment, he is aided by the top rider.

10:00 p.m. R11 8 Gun (3 g Extreme Choice – Myrtle Turtle) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the turf and carries just 51kg. He was a last start winner after racing on the pace, has drawn the ace, and gets in well at the weights.

10:30 p.m. R12 8 Aftermath (6 g Spirit of Boom – Elusive Gift) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 50.5kg. He made solid ground from the rear last time, but is another who has copped an awkward barrier (11).
