Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has seven horses entered on Saturday 17 February at Kranji.

5:00 p.m. R1 3 China Pearl (3 g Ardrossan – Indian Sky) – Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56.5kg. He caught the eye finishing third last time and has first four claims with luck from the wide draw (11) - one of two in the event for the stable.

5:00 p.m. R1 11 Red Maned (5 m Burgundy – Imagunakepa) – Nazam Rozlan (a3); she drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 51kg. She has won a trial since last racing, possesses good course/distance stats, may lead, and is among the top three prospects.

5:30 p.m. R2 1 Prince Lonhro (4 g Lonhro – Palace Gardens) – Clyde Leck (a1); he drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the turf and carries 56.5kg. He receives the opportunity to improve on the turf - again two stable starters contesting this event.

5:30 p.m. R2 2 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 10 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55.5kg. He is capable of an improved showing but is another who has a difficult draw to naviagte (10).

7:00 p.m. R5 1 God’s Gift (7 g Haradasun – Criquette) – Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 57kg. He brings good course/distance stats into play and rates a top three chance from his handy gate (3).

10:00 p.m. R11 9 Te Akau Ben (6 g Tavistock – Danalaga) – Ivan Espindola; he drew the outside barrier (13) in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. Also a previous course/distance winner, he will likely get back from his awkward draw (13) and can hopefully run home strongly - the first of two stable runners engaged here.

10:00 p.m. R11 10 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 8 of 13 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 52kg. He is required to improve and will be more competitive back in grade.
