Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has seven horses entered on Saturday 6 April at Kranji.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022 and trained nearly 100 winners since, including runner-up in the premiership. Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:30 p.m. R1 2 Our Secret Weapon (6 g Outreach – Poppy’s Pond) – Jerlyn Seow (a2); he drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly track and carries 56.5kg. Handily drawn (2),his  jockey is in good form, and is a proven performer at this level - the first of two in the event for the team.

5:30 p.m. R1 8 Super Posh (8 g Super Easy – Posh Bec) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly track and carries 56kg. He will attempt to go forward from an awkward draw (10) and is looking to recapture form.

7:00 p.m. R4 7 Santino (3 g Santos – Mercy’s Choice) – Carlos Henrique; he drew the outside barrier (8) in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly track and carries 51.5kg. A last start winner, he is up to the task with luck from the draw (8).

7:30 p.m. R5 5 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 9 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on turf and carries 51.5kg. He stays at same distance, worked well during the week, and looks a chance to race well again.

8:30 p.m. R7 10 Aftermath (6 g Spirit of Boom – Elusive Gift) – Awa Chong (a4); he drew the outside barrier (14) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 47.5kg. He will get back from a wide draw (14) and will have to be ridden for luck.

8:30 p.m. R7 16 Gun (3 g Extreme Choice – Myrtle Turtle) – unfixed; he drew barrier 1 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 50.5kg. Ballot two, unlikely to gain start.

9:30 p.m. R9 9 Artillery (3 g Smart Missile – Lycra Lass) – Ivan Espindola; he drew barrier 3 of 9 in the $110,000 Singapore 3YO Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m) on turf and carries 57kg. While he is fresh-up and ideally drawn (3), he does meets strong field.
