Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview
Date: 13 Apr 2024
Te Akau Singapore has eight horses entered on Saturday 13 April at Kranji.
Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022 and trained nearly 100 winners since, including runner-up in the premiership.
Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.
4:30 p.m. R1 2 Fadaboy (5 g Deep Field – Ezee Ezee) – Jerlyn Seow (a2); he drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kg.He drops in class, is ideally drawn (3), and rates a top three chance as one of two in the field for the stable.
4:30 p.m. R1 9 Rhett Butler (3 g Charm Spirit – Thurlow) – Luis Corrales; he drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $530,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 58kg. Blinkers are on for the first time, he has talent, a strong rider is aboard, and he has first four claims.
5:50 p.m. R3 6 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Jaden Lloyd; he drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kg. He has recorded back to back wins when racing on the speed, and while up in class and meeting a stronger field, he is still capable of rating a top four chance.
7:00 p.m. R6 3 Red Maned (5 m Burgundy – Imagunakepa) – Jaden Lloyd; she drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 58.5kg. The rider will try and utilise barrier one to lead, and she has been freshened and looks capable of a top four finish.
7:30 p.m. R7 14 God’s Gift (7 g Haradasun – Criquette) – unfixed; he drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 51.5kg. Ballot two, he is unlikely to gain a start.
8:30 p.m. R9 4 Commander (3 g U S Navy Flag – Quest) – Marc Lerner; he drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kg. He finished third last start when racing without cover, so will be looking to find the fence from a nice draw (3) and finish off strongly.
9:00 p.m. R10 1 Axel (8 g Darci Brahma – Josephines Fortune) – Jaden Lloyd; he drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 57.5kg. A 10 time winner, he has good course/distance stats, and is ideally drawn (2) to race well.
9:00 p.m. R10 8 Te Akau Ben (6 g Tavistock – Danalaga) – Ivan Espindola; he drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He delivered a strong second last time with Espindola aboard, and presents as a top three chance.
