Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has seven horses entered on Saturday 4 May at Kranji.

4:30 p.m. R1 5 Our Secret Weapon (6 g Outreach – Poppy’s Pond) – Ruan Maia; he drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kg. Handily drawn (4), the blinkers are on, and he has first four claims in a race with two stable contenders.

4:30 p.m. R1 9 Super Posh (8 g Super Easy – Posh Bec) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 57kg. He improved with his effort for second last start and is a good chance to race well again.

6:30 p.m. R5 2 Gun (3 g Extreme Choice – Myrtle Turtle) – Awa Chong (a4); he drew barrier 8 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. He drops in class for this assignment and is aided by the apprentice's weight relief.

7:30 p.m. R7 9 Charminton (5 g Charm Spirit – Sarzana) – Ruan Maia; he drew the outside barrier (14) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55.5kg. He made up plenty of ground from another wide gate for fourth last time and is looking to repeat the effort - one of three entered in the event for the team.

7:30 p.m. R7 11 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 1 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55.5kg. He followed back to back wins with a last start second, and is thriving. Ideally drawn (1) to lead, he should race well again if appreciative of the turf.

7:30 p.m. R7 15 Aftermath (6 g Spirit of Boom – Elusive Gift) – Awa Chong (a4); he drew barrier 13 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 48kg. Sitting at number one on the ballot, he is unlikely to make the field.

8:30 p.m. R9 6 Istataba (5 m Treasure Beach – Coordenada) – Bruno Queiroz; she drew barrier 7 of 11 in the $85,000 Class 2 1600 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. She comes in well at the weights (52.5kg), and while she should be finishing strongly, she is looking for more distance.
