Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 15 horses (including five on ballot) racing on Sunday 2 August at Kranji.

Trainer Mark Walker ended last season (Dec. 8) with 73 wins to claim his third title as Singapore Champion Trainer, and currently leads with 29 wins this year.

4.00 p.m. R1 2 Broadway Success (5 g Alamosa - Broadway Express) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 56kgs. He looks to have top four prospects and rain would help his cause.

4.00 p.m. R1 13 Red Riding Wood (7 g Redwood -
Dreamcatcher) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400
metres on turf and carries 54.5kgs. Ballot one and he is unlikely to make the
field.

5.00 p.m. R3 3 Sacred Judgement (5 g So You Think - Rose Ransom) - Benny Woodworth; drew the outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 56.5kgs. He rates an each way chance with luck in the running from the widest gate (12).

5.30 p.m. R4 7 Happy Friday (4 g Shooting to Win - Enide) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kgs. This horse is an improver but would probably prove more competitive over more ground.

6.30 p.m. R6 14 Showbound (4 g Showcasing - Midnight
Senorita) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden
1400 metres on turf and carries 54.5kgs. Ballot two and he is unlikely to make
the field.

7.00 p.m. R7 14 Street Cry Success (6 g Street Cry -
Koala Bear) - unfixed; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres
on turf and carries 55.5kgs. Ballot two and he is unlikely to make the field.

7.30 p.m. R8 9 Lim's Rhythm (6 g Rock ‘N' Pop - Paixanito) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 55kgs. The now six year old trialled well and he can claim a first five position if things go his way - despite the awkward draw (10). The first of two in the race for Mark Walker.

7.30 p.m. R8 10 Prince Pegasus (7 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 51.5kgs. This horse is something of a head-scratcher and can be very unpredictable - but he looks well and he rates an each way chance at big odds.

8.00 p.m. R9 11 Lai Mak Mak (9 g O'Reilly - Pretty) -
JP Van der Merwe; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on
turf and carries 52.5kgs. He would be better suited in Class 5.

8.30 p.m. R10 4 Federation (5 g Written Tycoon - Bloomingdale Miss) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on turf and carries 54.5kgs. He is another that has copped a carpark draw and he will need luck from that gate (11).

9.30 p.m. R12 3 Sacred Rebel (6 g Sepoy - Pandoro De Lago) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $85,000 Class 2 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kgs. Lining up in a race with three stable entries, he would be better suited in Class 5.

9.30 p.m. R12 11 Red Rover (6 g O'Reilly - Pin Up) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $85,000 Class 2 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 47kgs. He rates a dangerous light-weight chance and is expected to race well.

9.30 p.m. R12 13 Man of Mystery (6 g All Too Hard -
Black Minx) - unfixed; drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $85,000 Class 2 1100 metres
on the poly track and carries 47kgs. Ballot one and he is unlikely to make the
field.

10.00 p.m. R13 9 Bionics (5 g Hinchinbrook - Bionic Girl) - CK Ng (a3); drew the outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kgs. Yet another difficult draw (widest - 12) makes it tough.

10.30 p.m. R14 13 Afalonhro (5 g Lonhro - Armed for
Action) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4
1200 metres on turf and carries 53.5kgs. Ballot one and he is unlikely to make
the field.
