Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has eight horses entered on Saturday 1 June at Kranji.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022 and trained over 100 winners since, including runner-up in the premiership.  Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:30 p.m. R1 3 Our Secret Weapon (6 g Outreach – Poppy’s Pond) – Ruan Maia; he drew the outside barrier (11) in the S$30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kg. He has been solid in this grade and and over the distance and has first four claims.

5:30 p.m. R3 3 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Bernardo Pinheiro; he drew barrier 2 of 9 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the turf and carries 58.5kg. Put a line through his performance last week and forgive the run due to the wet track which was not to his liking. He is ideally drawn (2) and is presented with the opportunity to improve in this grade.

6:00 p.m. R6 6 Charminton (5 g Charm Spirit – Sarzana) – Ryan Curatolo; he drew barrier 9 of 10 in the S$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He brings good stats on this course and has the opportunity to bounce back to form if he can secure luck from his wide draw (9) - one of two entered for the stable.

6:00 p.m. R6 8 Santino (3 g Santos – Mercy’s Choice) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 7 of 10, also in the S$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the turf and carries just 51kg. He is suited chasing the speed and has placed on the turf previously.

7:30 p.m. R7 6 God’s Gift (7 g Haradasun – Criquette) – Bruno Queiroz; he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He faces the challenge of backing up from his third placing last Saturday, but will again be ridden by the leading jockey and rates a top four chance.

8:00 p.m. R8 2 Gun (3 g Extreme Choice – Myrtle Turtle) – Carlos Henrique; he drew barrier 6 of 14 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 58kg. One of three in the event for the stable, he should be suited to the conditions of this race.

8:00 p.m. R8 3 Prince Lonhro (4 g Lonhro – Palace Gardens) – Jamil Sarwi (a3); he drew barrier 2 of 14 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. He has had his share of excuses and is aided by the apprentice weight relief.

8:00 p.m. R8 8 Fadaboy (5 g Deep Field – Ezee Ezee) – Charles Perkins; he drew barrier 3 of 14 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries 56.5kg. He is another on the quick back up from last Saturday, when he found the line strongly for fourth, and is ideally drawn (3) to make his presence felt.
