Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has five horses entered on Saturday 22 June at Kranji.

5:00 p.m. R2 3 Santino (3 g Santos – Mercy’s Choice) – TH Koh; he drew barrier 6 of 7 in the S$75,000 Novice 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56.5kg. He delivered a strong second over 1200 metres last start, the step up in distance should suit and he is certainly capable of another solid showing.

7:30 p.m. R7 7 Red Maned (5 g Burgundy – Imagunakepa) – Simon Kok; he drew barrier 8 of 11 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 56kg. A last start course/distance winner in this grade, he is up 4kg in weight, and likes to go forward so look for him to be prominent in the running.

8:00 p.m. R8 1 Te Akau Ben (6 g Tavistock – Danalaga) – Ivan Espindola; he drew the outside barrier (10) in the S$50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 57kg. He continues to race in good form since winning three starts ago, unfortunately is drawn wide again (10) but rates a strong top three chance.

8:30 p.m. R9 4 Contarelli (4 g Caravaggio – Dark And Stormy) – Bernardo Pinheiro; he drew barrier 6 of 12 in the S$30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the turf and carries 57.5kg. He appreciates a genuine pace and is presented with the opportunity to improve in this grade.

9:00 p.m. R10 10 Otahuhu (4 g Overshare – O’Reilly Miracle) – Ivan Espindola; he drew barrier 4 of 12 in the S$50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 51kg. He likes to lead, is very bright in condition, and has definite first four claims.
