Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 15 (including three on ballot) horses racing on Saturday 19 September at Kranji.

Trainer Mark Walker ended last season (Dec. 8) with 73 wins to claim his third title as Singapore Champion Trainer, and currently leads with 36 wins this year.

4.30 p.m. R2 6 Marcus Antonius (3 g Sepoy - Panda's Turn) - Ismail Saifudin; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1400 metres on turf and carries 51.5kgs. He is an improving type and he rates a place chance at odds.

5.00 p.m. R3 2 Showbound (4 g Showcasing - Midnight Senorita) - Ruan Maia; drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57.5kgs. He finds the right race and jockey to rate a top four prospect.

5.30 p.m. R4 10 Black Quail  (7 g Coats Choice - Sefidi) - CK Ng (a3); drew 8 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 48.5kgs. He requires a drop to Class 5 to be competitive.

6.30 p.m. R6 2 Red Riding Wood (7 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1800 metres on turf and carries 58.5kgs. A last start winner, he faces a tougher grade here but can deliver a first four finish.

7.00 p.m. R7 5 Brutus  (4 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - Ruan Maia; drew barrier 6 of 9 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. He is in good form but meets very good horse (No. 8) that will be hard to beat.

7.30 p.m. R8 13 Big Regards (7 g Darci Brahma - Molly Coco) - unfixed; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. Ballot one, he is unlikely to gain a start.

8.00 p.m. R9 5 Happy Friday (4 g Shooting to Win - Enide) - Andrew John; drew the outside barrier (12) in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kgs. He has a difficult draw (12) to contend with so he rates a place chance with a good dose of luck.

8.00 p.m. R9 11 Accumulation  (6 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - JP Van der Merwe; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. He drops own in the weights but he needs to improve to threaten here.
