Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview
28 November, 2020
Te Akau Singapore has 11 horses racing on Saturday 28 November at Kranji.
Trainer Mark Walker ended last season (Dec. 8) with 73 wins to claim his third title as Singapore Champion Trainer, and currently lies second with 43 wins this year.
5.00 p.m. R1 13 Amazing Choice (6 g Shocking - Choices Are) - CK Ng (a3); drew the outside barrier (14) in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. He sits at one on the ballot so is unlikely to gain a start.
6.00 p.m. R3 1 Cousteau (6 g Exceed and Excel - Maritime) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. He drops back in class but requires luck from the wide draw (10). The first of two in the event for Mark Walker.
6.00 p.m. R3 2 Silent Partner (5 g Dandy Man - Dolce Dovo) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. He is having his first start for stable and is destined for more distance but he could go a cheeky race.
7.00 p.m. R5 9 Prince Pegasus (7 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 51.5kgs. He is proving somewhat of a head-scratcher, and his future racing looks likely to be in Malaysia. Another event with two stable representatives.
7.00 p.m. R5 10 Accumulation (6 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 51kgs. He has been a touch disappointing, but he gets his chance from barrier one.
7.30 p.m. R6 10 Wednesday (3 g Super One - Shufetish) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 49.5kgs. On debut, his trials have been moderate and the trainer will be looking for improvement.
7.30 p.m. R6 12 Take A Chance (3 g Star Witness - Hilylia) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 49.5kgs. Ballot one, thus he is unlikely to gain a start but would rank among the top five prospects if he made field.
8.00 p.m. R7 1 What You Like (7 g Savabeel - Kinsella) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. He rates a top four chance in an even affair.
8.30 p.m. R8 5 Maximilian (5 g Highly Recommended - Annabel Rose) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a3); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the poly track and carries 50.5kgs. He is ideally drawn (4) to rate a top four propsect.
9.30 p.m. R10 8 Red Riding Wood (7 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. He needs more distance to make his presence felt.
10.00 p.m. R11 10 Lai Mak Mak (9 g O'Reilly - Pretty) - CK Ng (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 48kgs. He would be better suited when he drops back to Class 5.
