Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

 

Te Akau Singapore has 16 horses entered on Saturday 24 April at Kranji.

Currently second, trainer Mark Walker ended a pandemic interrupted season (27 Dec.) in second place with 45 wins. He was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), and 2019, runner-up twice, third, and fourth, since Te Akau established a stable in 2010 at Kranji Racecourse.

 

5.00 p.m. R1 8 Sportscaster (7 g Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Dancer) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 13 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 2000 metres on turf and carries 54.5kg. He has a tough draw (13) to contend with, thus he rates a place chance with luck.

5.30 p.m. R2 1 King Arthur (3 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - CC Wong; drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg.  Another with a tough draw (11) to overcome, he too rates a place chance with luck.

5.30 p.m. R2 2 Reignite (3 g Sebring - Risk Aversion) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 55kg. He trialled nicely, and presents as an each-way chance.

5.30 p.m. R2 4 Elliot Ness (3 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. In grand form, he rates a strong winning chance.

6.00 p.m. R3 6 Speedy Missile (4 g Smart Missile - Telegraph Girl) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew the outside barrier (14) in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 52kg. Drawn the car park (14), he can run a place if he can navigate this difficulty.

6.30 p.m. R4 5 Red Riding Wood (7 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew the outside barrier (13) in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 54.5kg. He needs more distance to make an impact.

6.30 p.m. R4 9 Showbound (4 g Showcasing - Midnight Senorita) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 5 of 13 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 57.5kg. He is a top three contender in a strong field.

7.00 p.m. R5 8 Axel (5 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 3 of 9 in the $70,000 Class 3 1700 metres on the poly-track and carries 49kg. Carrying a light weight, he can feature in the top three.

7.30 p.m. R6 4 Big Regards (7 g Darci Brahma - Molly Coco) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 8 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 2000 metres on turf and carries 57.5kg. He is a top three propsect if wet.

7.30 p.m. R6 11 Accumulation (6 g Rip Van Winkle - Vega Sicila) - CC Wong; drew barrier 2 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 2000 metres on turf and carries 55kg. In good form, he has claims to be part of a first four finish.

8.00 p.m. R7 1 Mr Clint (6 g Power - Victoria Belle) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 1 of 10 in the $100,000 Class 1 1600 metres on turf and carries 57kg. In solid form, he rates a top four prospect.

8.00 p.m. R7 4 Sacred Croix (6 g Savabeel - Croix Du Sud) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 8 of 10 in the $100,000 Class 1 1600 metres on turf and carries 57kg. He can figure in the finish if the track remains firm.

8.30 p.m. R8 13 Broadway Success (5 g Alamosa - Broadway Express) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 53.5kg. Ballot one, he looks unlikely to gain a start.

9.00 p.m. R9 1 Savvy Command (4 g Savabeel - Best Command) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 1 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 58kg. He is capable of a top four finish if the track remains firm.

9.00 p.m. R9 7 Ronaldo's Dream (4 g Darci Brahma - Sweet Dreams Baby) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 14 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 52kg. He rates a top four chance.

9.30 p.m. R10 7 Zac Kasa (6 g Reset - Unabated) - Marc Lerner; drew barrier 1 of 14 in the $300,000 Lion City Cup (Gr. 1, 1200m) on turf and carries 57.5kg. Visor blinkers first time, it's a tough field he faces but he is up to figuring in the finish.
