Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview
12 June, 2021
Te Akau Singapore has 17 horses entered on Saturday 12 June at Kranji.
Currently second, Mark Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), and 2019, runner-up three times, third, and fourth, since Te Akau established a stable in 2010 at Kranji Racecourse.
5.30 p.m. R2 8 Our Final Offer (3 g Deep Field - Egyptian Melody) - Oscar Chavez; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. He has ability and rates a top four chance.
5.30 p.m. R2 13 King Arthur (3 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - unfixed; drew the outside barrier (13) in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. Ballot one, he is unlikely to gain a start.
6.00 p.m. R3 2 Man of Mystery (6 g All Too Hard - Black Minx) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 53kg. In good form, he rates a top four prospect given the weight relief - the first of a trio of starters for Mark Walker in the third on the programme.
6.00 p.m. R3 6 Cousteau (6 g Exceed and Excel - Maritime) - Marc Lerner; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 55kg. Ideally drawn (3), he rates a top four chance.
6.00 p.m. R3 8 Brutus (4 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - CC Wong; drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 53kg. Fresh-up, and boosted by a light weight, he can post a first four finish with the barrier one advantage.
6.30 p.m. R4 7 Marcus Antonius (3 g Sepoy - Panda's Turn) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on the poly-track and carries 56.5kg. A last start winner who has trained on well since, he looks a top four chance with champion rider aboard.
7.00 p.m. R5 8 Sacred Judgement (5 g So You Think - Rose Ransom) - CC Wong; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. He needs to lift to make an impact.
7.00 p.m. R5 14 Motakhayyel (4 g Snitzel - Tetsuko) - unfixed; drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kg. Sitting at two on the ballot, he is unlikely to make the field.
7.30 p.m. R6 3 Our Secret Weapon (3 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 59kg. He is assigned a big weight (59kg), but on the upside has drawn nicely (3) and has the top rider to rate a genuine first four proposition.
8.00 p.m. R7 1 Barbeque (5 g Helmet - Heat of the Fire) - CC Wong; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kg. Working well the past week, he is up to a first four finish.
8.00 p.m. R7 2 Lai Mak Mak (9 g O'Reilly - Pretty) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries just 50.5kg. In good form, with a light weight, look for him finishing off stongly.
9.30 p.m. R10 3 Savvy Command (4 g Savabeel - Best Command) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. A last start winner who faces a tough field here, he has drawn well, will carry a lightweight and does have top four claims.
9.30 p.m. R10 8 Axel (5 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - CC Wong; drew the outside barrier (14) in the $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 55.5kg. Drawn widest (14) and he needs more distance as well as a lot of luck.
9.30 p.m. R10 11Nationality (6 g Commands - Milliyet) - Oscar Chavez; drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 54kg. He may be better suited in Class 4.
10.00 p.m. R11 1Master Ryker (5 g Sebring - Hanky Panky) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 55kg. Back in grade, he is ideally drawn (1), he has good each-way claims.
10.00 p.m. R11 2Aftermath (3 g Spirit of Boom - Elusive Gift) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. He has been freshened, and ridden patiently with a champion jockey in the saddle, he will make his presence felt at the business end.
10.00 p.m. R11 4Entertainer (4 g Zoustar - Laughing) - CC Wong; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. In good form before being freshened, he likes to go forward, and is among the top four prospects.
