Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 21 horses entered on Saturday 4 September at Kranji.

Currently leading the Trainers' Premiership with 49 wins, Mark Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), and 2019, runner-up three times, third, and fourth, since Te Akau established a stable at Kranji in 2010.

4.30 p.m. R2 1 Qaidoom (3 g Noble Mission - Destiny Calls) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. Debut winner last start, he rates a top four chance is he has any with luck from the tricky draw (8).

5.00 p.m. R3 2 Hamama  (4 m Shackleford - Borrowingbasebaby) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. One of two in this event for Mark Walker, she was a good last start winner and has first four claims.

5.00 p.m. R3 8 Brutus  (5 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 7 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 50.5kg. The second stable runner in this Class 4 appears a solid light weight chance.

5.30 p.m. R4 1 Reignite  (4 g Sebring - Risk Aversion) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 1 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg.  His work has been up to the mark, and he can figure in first four placings - the first of a Mark Walker duo in this maiden affair.

5.30 p.m. R4 3 Rusty Rust  (4 g Darci Brahma - More Than A Chance) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg. He needs to improve to have an impact.

6.00 p.m. R5 1 Axel  (6 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. In another race with two stable representatives, he looks to be a top four prospect, taking advantage of the apprentice claim.

6.00 p.m. R5 3 Afalonhro  (6 g Lonhro - Armed for Action) - Shafiq Rusof; drew outside barrier (9) in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg.  Like his aforementioned stablemate, he is up to figuring in the dividend payers.

6.30 p.m. R6 8 Wednesday (4 g Super One - Shufetish) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Improving, he rates an each-way opportunity at odds.

7.00 p.m. R7 1 Silent Partner (6 g Dandy Man - Dolce Dovo) - Jerlyn Seow (a4); drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg.  One of two for the stable in this Class 4, he's a horse that seems to prefer the turf, thus, a place chance looks best.

7.00 p.m. R7 8 What You Like  (8 g Savabeel - Kinsella) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 8 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. He comes in with the benefit of a very light weight and is training well enough to present as a top four chance.

7.30 p.m. R8 4 Sound the Siren  (7 g Snitzel - Gussy Godiva) - CC Wong; drew barrier 2 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. He can be somewhat unpredictable but he is nonetheless a capable galloper who does have the ability, if he brings his right game to race day, to feature in the finish.

8.00 p.m. R9 9 Red Riding Wood  (8 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 50.5kg.  Another Mark Walker runner who will benefit from the apprentice claim and under these conditions, he has to be considered as a top four prospect.

8.00 p.m. R9 13 Sportscaster  (8 g Fastnet Rock - Gypsy Dancer) - unfixed; drew outside barrier (12) in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 51.5kg. At number one on the ballot, he is unlikely to gain start.

8.00 p.m. R9 14 Marcus Antonius  (4 g Sepoy - Panda's Turn) - unfixed; drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 51kg. Also on the ballot (2), he will be unlikely to make the field.

His work has been solid since his very close second last start and he rates a top four chance in a race with three stable representatives.

8.30 p.m. R10 10 Sacred Gift (6 g Zoustar - Calcatta) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 4 of 11 in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 48kg. He appears a light weight prospect.

8.30 p.m. R10 11 I Am Sacred  (5 g I Am Invincible - Such A Princess) - Mohd Zaki; drew barrier 5 of 11 in the $85,000 Class 2 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. He is better suited in Class 3.

9.00 p.m. R11 1 Cousteau  (7 g Exceed and Excel - Maritime) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 1 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. A last start winner, he is ideally drawn (1) with the top rider engaged, and once again he has to be a serious contender - together with his stablemate next.

9.00 p.m. R11 5 Elliot Ness  (4 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 2 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 51kg. With a light weight on his back, he too is up to a first four finish.

9.30 p.m. R12 6 Inherit  (6 g Pierro - In the Future) - Aiman Kamaruddin (a2); drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 50.5kg. He looks an improver at odds.

9.30 p.m. R12 8 Grandpa Mick Mac  (6 g Minstrel Court - Zabba) - Harry Kasim; drew outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. He requires a drop to Class 5 to really show his best.
