Te Akau Singapore has 12 horses entered on Saturday 8 January at Kranji

Resident trainer Donna Logan has taken over reins for Te Akau in Singapore, and Mark Walker returns home to New Zealand, replacing Jamie Richards who leaves in April to train in Hong Kong.  

Since Te Akau established its stable in Singapore in 2010, Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019 and 2021 with 66 wins, also was also runner-up three times, as well as third and fourth.

 

5:00 p.m. R1 9 Pasir Pinji (5 g Nadeem - Mistaar) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 4 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Resuming, he will take benefit for the run.

5:00 p.m. R1 14 Hidden Promise (9 g Postponed - Promissory) - Shafiq Rusof; drew outside barrier (12) in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg. Sitting at ballot two, he is unlikely to gain start.

5:30 p.m. R2 8 Deception (3 g I Am Invincible - Friday Hussy) - Marc Lerner; drew barrier 5 of 9 in $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. He is having his first start and meets a handy field, nonetheless he rates a top three chance.

7:00 p.m. R5 7 Wednesday (4 g Super One - Shufetish) - CC Wong; drew barrier 6 of 10 in $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Resuming, he has been working well and rates a top three prospect.

8:00 p.m. R7 2 Good Luck Charm (6 g The Factor - Catered) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 3 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 53kg. Freshened, he is ultra-consistent but is likely to take benefit from run.

8:30 p.m. R8 5 Diamond Ring (5 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Marc Lerner; drew outside barrier (12) in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg. Improving with each outing, he has first four claims with luck from the draw (12).

9:00 p.m. R9 7 Super Posh (6 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew outside barrier (10) in $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 55kg. Consistent, he rates a top four prospect with any luck from the tricky draw (10).

9:00 p.m. R9 9 Our Secret Weapon (4 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 7 of 10 in $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 56.5kg. He should perform well fresh and can figure in the first four home.

9:30 p.m. R10 3 Entertainer (5 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. He has a very awkward draw (8) to contend with, but enjoys apprentice weight relief and rates a top three chance.

9:30 p.m. R10 8 The Big Easy (7 g Super Easy - Vital Choice) - Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 2 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. With a good record both on the track and over the distance, he is ideally drawn (2), could lead and certainly be a top four contender.

9:30 p.m. R10 14 Reignite (4 g Sebring - Risk Aversion) - CC Wong; drew outside barrier (12) in $70,000 Class 3 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. Number two on the ballot, he is unlikely to gain a start.

10:00 p.m. R11 5 Good Fight (4 g Super One - Bella Elegante) - CC Wong; drew barrier 5 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. Up steps up in grade and certainly does have first four claims.
