Te Akau Singapore has twelve horses racing on Saturday 4 January at Kranji. Trainer Mark Walker ended last season (Dec. 8) with 73 wins to claim his third title as Singapore Champion Trainer, and kicked off with three wins on 1 January.
6.15 p.m. R1 4 Red Riding Wood (6 g Redwood - Dreamcatcher) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 55kgs. He needs more distance - one of three in the event for Mark Walker.
6.15 p.m. R1 7 Prince Pegasus (6 g Beneteau - Sassy Peg) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 58.5kgs. He rates a top four chance.
6.15 p.m. R1 9 Hidden Promise (7 g Postponed - Promissory) - Ismail Azhar; drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 58.5kgs. An older horse now but he still rates a top four chance.
6.45 p.m. R2 1 Brutus (3 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 1 of 9 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on the poly track and carries 57kgs. A nice type who posted a lovely first-up run for third - he rates a top four chance.
7.15 p.m. R3 1 Axel (4 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. He does carry the top weight, but drops to Class 4 and he rates a top four prospect.
7.45 p.m. R4 2 Sacred Gift (4 g Zoustar - Calcatta) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 58kgs. He has had a few barrier problems but will be hard to beat if he behaves himself.
8.15 p.m. R5 7 Clarton Star (4 g Highly Recommended - Annabel Rose) - Ismail Azhar; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 56kgs. He finds a weaker race and rates a top four proposition.
8.45 p.m. R6 1 Amazing Choice (5 g Shocking - Choices Are) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a4); drew the outside barrier (10) in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54kgs. He needs a drop back to Class 5 - the first of two starters in the event for the trainer.
8.45 p.m. R6 8 Admiral Winston (3 g Declaration of War - Montclair) - Benny Woodworth; drew the outside 2 of 10 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on the poly track and carries 54.5kgs. Two nice efforts to date and he appears a top four contender.
10.50 p.m. R10 2 Man of Mystery (5 g All Too Hard - Black Minx) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 59kgs. Another carrying top weight, but he rates a first four chance.
10.50 p.m. R10 5 Time to Rock (6 m Time Thief - Six O'clock Rock) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a4); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 50.5kgs. It makes it tough from the draw.
10.50 p.m. R10 8 Black Quail (6 g Coats Choice - Sefidi) - J P Van de Merwe; drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly track and carries 50kgs. He requires a drop back to Class 5.
