Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

 

Te Akau Singapore has 14 horses entered on Saturday 2 April at Kranji.

Resident trainer Donna Logan has taken over reins for Te Akau in Singapore, and Mark Walker returned home to New Zealand, replacing Jamie Richards who finished in March and leaves in May to train in Hong Kong. 

Since Te Akau established its stable at Kranji in 2010, Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, and was also runner-up three times, as well as third and fourth.

 

5:30 p.m. R2 10 Rahotu (5 g Invincible Spirit - Insoumise) - Manoel Nunes; drew barrier 2 of 12 in $20,000 Open Maiden 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg. He was good winning two trials and has strong top three prospects.

6:00 p.m. R3 8 Champagne Finale (6 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 4 of 10 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 51.5kg. He requires more distance to make his presence felt.

6:30 p.m. R4 3 Diamond Ring (5 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Ronald Stewart; drew barrier 11 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 58.5kg. He requires luck from draw (11) - the first of a stable duo.

6:30 p.m. R4 10 Wednesday (4 g Super One - Shufetish) - CC Wong; drew barrier 1 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. Having recorded two seconds from his last two starts, he rates a top three chance from the handy barrier one.

7:00 p.m. R5 7 Axel (6 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Ismadi Amirul (a1); drew barrier 10 of 11 in $50,000 Class 4 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. He has first four claims if he can get any luck from his difficult draw (10).

7:30 p.m. R6 1 God's Gift (5 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Ismadi Amirul (a1); drew barrier 5 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 58kg. He receives the opportunity to improve - the first of two stable runners in this race.

7:30 p.m. R6 4 Hidden Promise (9 g Postponed - Promissory) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 9 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Forget his last run, he has weight relief and he too can improve.

8:00 p.m. R7 12 Buddy Buddy (7 g Dubawi - Born Something) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 2 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 50.5kg. He requires a drop to Class 5 to be competitive.

8:30 p.m. R8 9 Pasir Pinji (5 g Nadeem - Mistaar) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 1 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. He rates a value place chance at best - the first of two for Donna Logan.

8:30 p.m. R8 11 Sunday (4 g Delago Deluxe - Gentle) - Oscar Chavez; drew barrier 10 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. He is using this run to build fitness for his upcoming race April assignment.

9:00 p.m. R9 6 Olympia (4 g Gingerbread Man - Second Omen) - Ronald Stewart; drew barrier 5 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. He rates a top three chance.

9:30 p.m. R10 2 Entertainer (5 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 1 of 8 in $100,000 Kranji Stakes A 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg. He trialled well, has drawn barrier one, and he is capable of finishing in the first three.

10:00 p.m. R11 1 King Arthur (4 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew outside barrier (10) in $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on poly-track carries 56kg. An ultra consistent competitor, he has top three prospects with luck from his wide draw (10) the first of two in this event for Fortuna.

10:00 p.m. R11 2 Hadeer (6 g Savabeel - A Real Princess) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 4 of 10 in $70,000 Class 3 1200 metres on poly-track carries 55kg. He is racing very well and rates a top three chance.
