Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 12 horses entered on Saturday 23 April at Kranji.

Since Te Akau established its stable in 2010 at Kranji, it has won the Champion Trainer titles under Mark Walker in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, and was also runner-up three times, as well as third, and fourth.

4:00 p.m. R1 12 Sunday (4 g Delago Deluxe - Gentle) - Oscar Chavez; drew barrier 8 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. The jockey knows the horse well and he rates a top four chance in an even affair.

4:30 p.m. R2 6 Rahotu (5 g Invincible Spirit - Insoumise) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 8 of 12 in $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 56.5kg. On his trial form, he should be finishing strongly and rates a top four chance with last season's Champion Apprentice (who also won the overall Champion Jockey Premiership) aboard.

5:30 p.m. R4 4 God's Gift (5 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 4 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 49.5kg. He ran the second fastest sectional last start and should be hitting the line as a lightweight place chance - one of two in the event for the stable.

5:30 p.m. R4 6 Foresto (7 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Ronald Stewart; drew barrier 2 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1700 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. He led when running fourth last start and will be in the thick of things if he is able to repeat that effort.

6:00 p.m. R5 5 Champagne Finale (6 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 1 of 10 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 51kg. He was a last start winner in the same grade, any rain will assist his chances, and is looks a top four prospect.

6:30 p.m. R6 1 Buddy Buddy (7 g Dubawi - Born Something) - Benny Woodworth; drew barrier 8 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on turf and carries 59kg. Back in class and he has a slightly awkward draw to contend with but does have first four claims - the first of two for the stable.

6:30 p.m. R6 11 Pasir Pinji (5 g Nadeem - Mistaar) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 10 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on turf and carries 53kg. He rates a rough place chance.

6:30 p.m. R6 14 Hidden Promise (9 g Postponed - Promissory) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew outside barrier (12) in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on turf and carries 49kg. Ballot two, he is unlikely to gain a start.

7:30 p.m. R8 10 Gamely (6 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 2 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg. The blinkers come off, and the plans are to sit off the speed and get home strongly.

7:30 p.m. R8 14 Wednesday (4 g Super One - Shufetish) - unfixed; drew barrier 10 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. Ballot two, he is unlikely to gain a start.

8:30 p.m. R10 6 Time Lord (7 g Guillotine - Mary Agnes) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 11 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 55kg. He is resuming and can be expected to need the run - in a race with two stable representatives.

8:30 p.m. R10 10 Golden Flame (7 g Mossman - Autumnconcerto) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 5 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1600 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. He does posses good course/distance stats and has the ability to feature in the first four.
