Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 14 horses entered on Saturday 21 May at Kranji.

Resident trainer Donna Logan has taken over reins for Te Akau in Singapore, and Mark Walker returned home to New Zealand.

Te Akau established its stable in Singapore in 2010, and Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019 and 2021, and was also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:00 p.m. R3 13 Pasir Pinji (5 g Nadeem - Mistaar) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 7 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. Ballot one, he is unlikely to gain start.

5:30 p.m. R4 3 Stenmark (4 g Medaglia d'Oro - Scandiva) - Hakim Kamaruddn (a1); drew barrier 4 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kg. He has been competitive in this grade and he rates a top four chance if he begins cleanly.

6:00 p.m. R5 8 Time Lord (7 g Guillotine - Mary Agnes) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 9 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1800 metres on turf and carries 54kg. Another good conditioning race for him and the team will be looking for a strong finish.

6:30 p.m. R6 4 Speedy Missile (5 g Smart Missile - Telegraph Girl) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 4 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kg. He flashed home for second last start and rates a top four prospect in a race featuring two starters for the stable.

6:30 p.m. R6 10 Aftermath (4 g Spirit of Boom - Elusive Gift) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 10 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 48.5kg. He carries a feather weight and he rates a top four chance, despite the tricky draw.

7:00 p.m. R7 3 Makkem Lad (6 g Kuroshio - Larksong) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew outside barrier (9) in $100,000 Kranji Stakes A 1200 metres on turf and carries 52kg. He loves this track and distance, forget the last run, in or near the lead and he has first four claims.

7:30 p.m. R8 5 Eagle Eye (7 g Pure Prize - Miss Tessi) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 5 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 55kg. Put a line through his last run, he produced a huge run prior, and just needs speed in the race to repeat - a top four chance in a race with two stable runners.

7:30 p.m. R8 9 Champagne Finale (6 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 7 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 50.5kg. He is best if there is any rain about.

8:00 p.m. R9 4 Silent Is Gold(3 g Star Turn - Confident) - Ronald Stewart; drew barrier 3 of 12 in $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on turf and carries 56.5kg. He is likely to go forward and is one for longer odds.

8:00 p.m. R9 13 Rahotu (5 g Invincible Spirit - Insoumise) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 3 of 12 in $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kg. Ballot one, he is unlikely to gain a start.

8:30 p.m. R10 9 Minister (6 g Street Sense - Light and Variable) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 2 of 16 in $1 million Kranji Mile (Gr. 3, 1600m) on turf and carries 57kg. Defending his title, he caught the eye last start, is peaking at the right time and he presents a top four chance in tough field.

9.05 p.m. R 11 13 Golden Flame (7 g Mossman - Autumnconcerto) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 6 of 12 in $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on turf and carries 51.5kg. Ballot one, he is unlikely to make the field.

9:35 p.m. R12 2 Super Impact (4 g Real Impact - Trick) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 4 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 58.5kg. Making his debut in Singapore, he has won three times from 1400m - 1600m, galloped well on Tuesday morning, and is an exciting horse who is capable of a top three finish.

9:35 p.m. R12 10 Silent Partner (6 g Dandy Man - Dolce Dovo) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 8 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 51kg. He has been disappointing recently and he needs the race before stepping up in distance.
