Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 10 horses entered on Saturday 2 July at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan is currently second on the Singapore Trainers' Premiership table.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, and was also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:30 p.m. R2 7 Rocky (3 g El Roca - Anthology) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 5 of 7 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg. Making his debut, using it as a trial, he rates a top four contender if he handles race day pressure for the first time.

5:00 p.m. R3 5 Qiji Auston (4 g Spirit of Boom - Light Emission) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg. While he is still a Maiden, his best efforts have been over this distance on the poly and he could figure with any luck from his awkward draw (8).

5:30 p.m. R4 3 Speedy Missile (5 g Smart Missile - Telegraph Girl) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 1 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 54kg. he has delivered three seconds in a row, looks a standout on paper and will likely jump as the short priced favourite.

6:30 p.m. R6 3 Sunday (4 g Delago Deluxe - Gentle) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 54.5kg. Ideally drawn (2), he receives opportunity to bounce back - one of two for the trainer in this event..

6:30 p.m. R6 12 Qiji Star (5 g Star Witness - Galeisha) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 46.5kg. Carrying a feather-weight, he too is looking to improve.

7:00 p.m. R7 5 God's Gift (5 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew outside barrier (7) in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. Racing consistently, he has good course/distance stats and rates a top four chance with luck from his draw (7).

7:30 p.m. R8 7 Montana Flash (3 g Star Turn - Dukemore) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 2 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 51.5kg. He drops back in class from the Singapore Three-Year-Old Sprint (Gr. 3, 1200m), and receives opportunity to bounce back as first four player.

8:30 p.m. R10 5 Entertainer (5 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $85,000 Kranji B 1400 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. He steps up in distance and is one for longer odds - the first of a stable trio contesting this event.

8:30 p.m. R10 6 Hadeer (6 g Savabeel - A Real Princess) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 9 of 12 in the $85,000 Kranji B 1400 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. He has recorded four wins at 1200 metres, finished well last start for third to stable-mate King Arthur (I Am Invincible) and is among the top four prospects with luck from his wide draw (9).

8:30 p.m. R10 11 Brutus (5 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 1 of 12 also in the $85,000 Kranji B 1400 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. He possesses solid course/distance stats, is aided by the ace draw and could surprise if he begins cleanly.
