Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview
Date: 2 Sep 2022
Te Akau Singapore has seven horses entered on Saturday 3 September at Kranji.
Te Akau trainer Donna Logan leads the Trainers' Premiership.
Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.
Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.
5:30 p.m. R4 7 Mystery Power (5 g No Nay Never - Gems) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 5 of 8 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 56.5kg. Treating as something of a trial, he is conditioning for more distance on turf.
6:00 p.m. R5 1 Fadaboy(4 g Deep Field - Ezee Ezee) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 5 of 10 in the $75,000 Novice 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 58kg. He is the highest rated horse in the field, does have ability, can run times, and has first four claims - one of three in the event for the team.
6:00 p.m. R5 3 Deception (4 g I Am Invincible - Friday Hussy) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 6 of 10 in the $75,000 Novice 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. The blinkers go on and he rates a good each-way chance.
6:00 p.m. R5 4 Rocky (4 g El Roca - Anthology) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 6 of 10 in the $75,000 Novice 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 58kg. He pulled up well after winning his Maiden in nice style last Sunday, appears to be appreciating blinkers, and he looks a top four prospect.
6:30 p.m. R6 4 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 55.5kg. He posted a nice last start second, comes in with good course/distance stats and he rates in the top three.
7:00 p.m. R7 3 Axel (7 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the poly-track and carries 53kg. He has weight relief and his consistency can see him land in the first four home in a race with a stable duo.
7:00 p.m. R7 4 Eagle Eye (8 g Pure Prize - Miss Tessi) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 1 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the poly-track and carries 56.5kg. He tends to get back and comes around them, on that basis he is a rough place chance in this field.
