Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

 

Te Akau Singapore has 10 horses entered on Saturday 17 September at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan is two off the lead on the Trainers' Premiership.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

 

4:00 p.m. R1 5 Super Posh (7 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew outside barrier (12) in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 53.5kg. He has delivered a win and two seconds from his last three starts but requires luck from his wide draw (12) - the first of a trio for the trainer.

4:00 p.m. R1 7 Our Secret Weapon (5 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 55.5kg. He has good course/distance stats, is very consistent, but needs things to go his way.

4:00 p.m. R1 8 Pindus (7 g Exceed and Excel - Melpomene) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew barrier 4 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg. He posted a good fourth fresh-up and rates a top four chance if he is further improved.

4:30 p.m. R2 1 Briggs (4 g Rubick - High Ace) - Jake Bayliss: drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $20,000 Maiden 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 57.5kg. He had three starts in Australia, has trialled well and he has definite first four claims.

5:30 p.m. R4 5 Aftermath (5 g Spirit of Boom - Elusive Gift) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew outside barrier (10) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 51kg. He has finished first and second respectively at his last two starts and he rates a top four chance if he can overcome the disadvantage of the wide gate.

6:00 p.m. R5 3 Entertainer (6 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew barrier 5 of 9 in the $70,000 Class 3 1000 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. he possesses a good poly-track record and he rates a top four chance.

6:30 p.m. R6 7 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 49kg. He is a front runner and has the ability to figure in a first four finish.

7:00 p.m. R7 6 Champagne Finale (7 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Harry Kasim; drew barrier 1 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 51kg. From barrier one he can figure in the finish.

7:30 p.m. R8 7 Foresto (8 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); drew barrier 5 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 53kg. He needs to improve too make his presence felt.

8:00 p.m. R9 2 King Arthur (5 g I Am Invincible - Pentasia) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew barrier 3 of 9 in the $100,000 Class 1 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. He ran very well for second in the Lion City Cup (Gr. 1, 1200m), us ideally drawn (3) and shapes to improve but presents as a top four chance.
