Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 14 horses entered on Saturday 15 October at Kranji.  Te Akau trainer Donna Logan leads the Trainers' Premiership with 53 wins this year.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:30 p.m. R2 3 Eagle Eye (8 g Pure Prize - Miss Tessi) - Iskandar Rosman (a2); drew barrier 5 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. He's a back runner in the race with plenty of speed and should be finishing strongly - one of two in the race for the stable.

5:30 p.m. R2 4 Flashfast (4 g Dream Ahead - Ohmygod) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 6 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 55.5kg. He improved with blinkers on last start and he rates a top four chance.

6:00 p.m. R3 6 Sunday (5 g Delago Deluxe - Gentle) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); drew barrier 2 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on turf and carries 52.5kg. He rates a top three chance.

7:30 p.m. R6 1 Montana Flash (4 g Star Turn - Dukemore) - Jake Bayliss; drew outside barrier (8) in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on turf and carries 58kg. He trialled well, comes in fresh, is better at 1400 metres but rates a top four chance - one of a trio for Te Akau.

7:30 p.m. R6 3 Winning Stride (4 g Wrote - Tossed and Turned) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 5 of 8 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on turf and carries 58kg. He won nicely on debut, is suited on turf, has the top rider, and rates a top three prospect.

7:30 p.m. R6 4 Deception (4 g I Am Invincible - Friday Hussy) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 7 of 8 in the $75,000 Novice 1200 metres on turf and carries 57kg. He seeks improvement in an easier field.

8:30 p.m. R8 1 Super Impact (4 g Real Impact - Trick) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 1 of 6 in he $70,000 Class 3 1800 metres on turf and carries 59kg. A dominant winner last time and he rates a top three chance.

With two wins and two second's from four starts, he will run as one of favourites, and has strong top three prospects - in an event with three for the stable.

9:00 p.m. R9 3 Kermajack (5 g Kermadec - Kapala) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 8 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 55kg. He is resuming after a wind op, trialled okay but needs further.
