Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 10 horses entered on Saturday 22 October at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan leads the Trainers' Premiership by one win, with 54 wins this year. There will be plenty of interest in the final six meetings of the season!

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:30 p.m. R2 4 January (3 g Swiss Ace - Musically) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 1 of 8 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He brings good form and times to the race and rates strong top three chance.

6:00 p.m. R3 9 Olympia (5 g Gingerbread Man - Second Omen) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew barrier 2 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 54kg. He delivered a solid third last time and he has first four claims.

7:00 p.m. R5 1 Axel (7 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Louis Beuzelin; drew barrier 1 of 7 in the $50,000 Class 4 1700 metres on the poly-track and carries 56kg. He went an improved race last time presented, and is capable of a first four finish.

7:30 p.m. R6 4 Wednesday (5 g Super One - Shufetish) - Jerlyn Seow (a3); drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 52kg. He went a top race for second last time when ridden forward and is a top four prospect with any luck from his wide draw (11) - one of a stable duo lining up in this Class 5.

7:30 p.m. R6 8 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on tbhe poly-track and carries 54kg. He missed the start last time, so cleanly away, he is capable of a top four finish.

8:30 p.m. R8 11 Rocky (4 g El Roca - Anthology) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew outside barrier (11) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 48.5kg. His car park draw (11) makes it tough, but he only has a light weight assigned and is capable of a first four home with a good dose of luck.

9:00 p.m. R9 2 Our Secret Weapon (5 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew barrier 3 of 8 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 54.5kg. He is ideally drawn (3) to make his presence felt and looks a strong top three chance.

9:30 p.m. R10 9 Foresto (8 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Simon Kok (a1); drew barrier 5 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on the poly-track and carries 50kg. He needs to improve.

10:00 p.m. R11 5 Stenmark (5 g Medaglia d'Oro - Scandiva) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on the turf and carries 52.5kg. He meets slick field, but has ability and rates a top four finisher if he begins cleanly.

10:30 p.m. R12 1 Legacy Fortune (3 g Dragon Pulse - Gold Zain) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); drew barrier 5 of 11 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 54.5kg. He went forward when winning two starts ago and will be aided by weight relief to be capable of a first four finish.
