Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

It's the final race meeting for the Singapore season and Te Akau Singapore has 10 horses entered on Saturday 26 November at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan is second in the premiership with 59 wins this year.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata. Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:30 p.m. R2 1 Charmshaab (3 g Charm Spirit - Sehaab) - Louis Beuzelin; he drew barrier 7 of 12 in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on the turf and carries 57kg. The 3YO finished third in his only start in NZ, has trialled three times here in moderate times, so for his debut, will wait and see - one of a stable duo contesting the second race on the final programme for 2022.

5:30 p.m. R2 2 Dark Show (3 g Shamexpress - Don't Worry) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 1 of 12 also lining up in the $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1200 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. Nothing went right for him on debut in October, he has since trialled but it's a bit tough to gauge his chances at present.

6:00 p.m. R3 12 Super Posh (7 g Super Easy - Posh Bec) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 3 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 46kg. He has been holding his own recently in this grade and does have a good record of two wins and two second's with this jockey.

7:00 p.m. R5 7 Diamond Ring (6 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Michael Kellady; he drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 56kg. He did well to win over 1000 metres last start, but does require luck from his wide draw (10) - the first of three nominated for this race.

7:00 p.m. R5 11 Olympia (5 g Gingerbread Man - Second Omen) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 8 of 12 also in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 53.5kg. He chased home well for fourth last start, but he needs the right run from the tricky barrier eight.

7:00 p.m. R5 14 Our Secret Weapon (5 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - unfixed; drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Sitting at number two on the ballot, he is unlikely to gain a start.

7:30 p.m. R6 1 Charminton (4 g Charm Spirit - Sarzana) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); drew barrier 8 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 56.5kg. He has been racing well this season and rates a top three chance.

8:30 p.m. R8 9 Master Ryker (7 g Sebring - Hanky Panky) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 10 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 51kg. He needs to improve to make an impression here.

9:30 p.m. R10 9 Axel (7 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Louis Beuzelin; he drew outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1700 metres on the poly-track and carries 56kg. Mr Consistency, he possesses good stats but he is another who requires luck from a wide gate (12).

10:30 p.m. R12 5 Brutus (6 g Rubick - Harvest Queen) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew the outside barrier (12) in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 51.5kg. Despite sounding repetitive, he is yet another who will need a good rub of the green to negate his wide draw (12).
