Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has five horses entered on Saturday 14 January at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the Trainers' Premiership.  Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

6:00 p.m. R3 4 Diamond Ring (6 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Michael Kellady; he drew outside barrier (7) in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 56kg. He requires luck in the running from the awkward outside gate (7).

6:30 p.m. R4 6 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - CC Wong; he drew barrier 8 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. He has fresh legs to bring in to play and looks a  top three chance with a decent run from his tricky draw (8).

6:30 p.m. R4 8 Foresto (8 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Ronnie Stewart; he drew the outside barrier (10) in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 52.5kg. He is gearing up to go further.

8:30 p.m. R8 1 January (3 g Swiss Ace - Musically) - Manoel Nunes; he drew barrier 3 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. A progressive horse, he trialled well on the poly, has won his last two starts and is justifiably the race favourite.

10:30 p.m. R12 15 Rocky (4 g El Roca - Anthology) - unfixed; he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 50kg. Sitting at three on the ballot, he is unlikely to gain start.
