Date: 4 Feb 2023
Te Akau Singapore has eight horses entered on Saturday 4 February at Kranji.
Te Akau trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the Trainers' Premiership. Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.
Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.
5:00 p.m. R1 8 Our Secret Weapon (5 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 4 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 51.5kg. Drawn to race handily, he rates a top four chance.
5:30 p.m. R2 8 Charmshaab (3 g Charm Spirit - Sehaab) - Ronnie Stewart; he drew barrier 2 of 10 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on the turf and carries 54.5kg. He had excuses last start and us ideally drawn (2) to rate a top four prospect.
7:00 p.m. R5 3 January (3 g Swiss Ace - Musically) - Manoel Nunes; he drew barrier 3 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56.5kg. He likes the turf, strips fitter and will be a short priced favourite capable of winning.
8:00 p.m. R7 5 Axel (7 g Darci Brahma - Josephines Fortune) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 7 of 10 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He boasts good stats and should be running home well.
