Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

 

Te Akau Singapore has 10 horses entered on Saturday 4 March at Kranji.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership. Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022. 

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

 

5:00 p.m. R1 11 Mystery Power (6 g No Nay Never - Gems) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 10 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 51.5kg. He strikes a tough field, but has been finishing solidly and could be in the finish with a light weight.

5:30 p.m. R2 1 Our Final Offer (5 g Deep Field - Egyptian Melody) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $20,000 Maiden 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 53.5kg. He trialled well this week and its another assisted by weight relief.

6:00 p.m. R3 8 Wednesday (5 g Super One - Shufetish) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 7 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on the poly-track and carries 49kg. He is also assisted by his light weight, but requires luck in the running.

6:30 p.m. R4 8 Champagne Finale (7 g All Too Hard - Grande Annee) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 5 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 50.5kg. He is a course/distance winner, and meets even field, so has first four claims with give in the ground.

7:30 p.m. R6 8 Foresto (8 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 1 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 52kg. He will settle back and stepping to 1400 metres should suit.

7:30 p.m. R6 9 Gamely (7 g Golden Archer - Tiny Temptress) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 8 of 11 in the $30,000 Class 5 1400 metres on the turf and carries 51kg. He requires an abundance of luck from barrier eight.

8:00 p.m. R7 2 January (3 g Swiss Ace - Musically) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 4 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 56kg. He continues to build a strong record and rates a top three chance. 

8:30 p.m. R8 5 Diamond Ring (6 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 54.5kg. He possesses a solid Class 5 record, has speed, and looks a top four chance. 

9:00 p.m. R9 1 Stenmark (5 g Medaglia d'Oro - Scandiva) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 4 of 9 in the $70,000 Class 3 1400 metres on the turf and carries 53kg. He enjoys weight relief and rates a top four chance providing he begins well which can be his archillies' heel but he's had plenty of extra work in this area.

9:30 p.m. R10 3 Minister (7 g Street Sense - Light and Variable) - Michael Kellady; he drew barrier 1 of 16 in the $100,000 Kranji Stakes A 1600 metres on the turf and carries 56.5kg. He gets on well with this jockey, likes the distance and is capable of racing well.
