Te Akau Singapore Scores a Double
Date: 21 May 2023
Only five wins separate the top six trainers on the Singapore Trainers' Premiership - and on Saturday, another winning double propelled Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan into that top tier.
The first win came in the first race on the programme as God's Gift, a 6YO Haradasun gelding raced by Donna herself, rattled home to score in a narrow but determined fashion for visiting Australian jockey Mark Zahra. The win in the S$30,000 Class 5 1400m was the 6YO's fourth of his Singapore career, having ten second ofrthird placings also on his very consistent record page.
Later in the programme, it was the spotlight landed on Knippenberg for Fortuna Racing. The I Am Invincible 3YO gelding produced a superb effort to take out the S$75,000 Novice 1200m for Ronnie Stewart - his second win from five Singapore starts. A number of his owners were on course to enjoy his win, as was Fortuna's John Galvin who was delighted with the result.
Knippenberg has now won twice and had two minor placings from five race day starts and has accumulated just under S$100,000 in prize money.
